I think the MGM Grand and I are going to get a divorce. Last year everything about it was splendid. And, mainly, all of the people from the floor sweepers on up were marvelous. This year, I must have thought 42 times an hour 'for this I am paying these big $$??!!' and I found the workers barely civil. The floor sweepers and room cleaners were still bright and cheery but everyone else was pretty much fuckyouverymuch.

And the internet connection was just inexcusable. And cellphone reception horrible.

I got an email this morning that I could check out via my 'computer or pda'. Hilariously, I did not see it until I got away from the hotel because I could not get an internet connection there.

It's time to find a new place. I want something with fabulous wifi, good cell reception, clean sheets, mold free shower and easy access to both the convention center and the Venetian. It actually might be the Venetian... I need to do some research.

This morning I got up and got my shit together and left it at the bell desk and came on over to the convention center. No lines at the monorail which was heaven. The doors don't even open for an hour and a half but, the cell reception, here in the lobby of the North hall is good and so I'm using the cellphone as a modem and it's sure better than the internet availability at the hotel!

But, here, it's warm and nice and I have plenty of time to figure out what I want to devote my last hour and a half to. I need to head back to the monorail about 11:45.

Turns out, after the first day, CES opens at 9 am and that is absolutely the time to go. Wow. The building I could not get into on Tuesday because it was so crowded, I sailed right into and through this morning.

It is nearly criminal what they did to this poor little Smart Car. Tricked out to death.

I was waltzing through a set of exhibits - really really cool fun stuff but it was all geared to Apple shit. iPhones and iPads but it was so cool. Finally I looked up and there was a giant sign over the whole section... I was in the iLounge. Doh.

I got my fill. It was wonderful but I'm done. I toyed with the idea of taking the road back to the hotel but couldn't find a sidewalk. So hopped on the monorail instead.

The rest of the MGM Grand story took a bit of an uptick. The email that I could not read this morning had a phone number to call if I needed service. I called it and got a recording that this was not a valid MGM Grand number (WTF???) but then it rang through and someone answered. I told her I wanted to check out and she handled the whole thing quickly, easily and cheerfully - even giving me my balance. And, within 5 minutes of my hanging up, I had a copy of my entire detailed bill in my email. Nice.

I have 45 minutes to kill until the shuttle bus to the airport. Then, at the airport, I'll have another couple of hours to destroy but I can get lunch and, if memory serves, the airport has nice wifi and outlets for charging.

I'm ready to be home. It's been a fun trip but I'm ready to be home.

I totally missed this gadget at CES. Sounds like a better deal that that Japanese one. I can't remember the name of it but it's been around for a long time. This must be the U.S. version. Still sorry I missed it.

I have died and gone to heaven. I have time to kill and I'm hungry and there is a popeye's chicken on the way to my gate.

I remember now about LV airport wifi. Not read for CES crowds. It's great if you grab a spot before they are all took but if you miss, you get connection with no internet which is not that helpful a connection, actually.

Once again, saved by my cellphone/modem. Thank you, EVO. Thank you, Sprint.

But, I'm going to have to get up (from the floor which is what the electrical outlet dictates) because 1. I will have to pee and 2. I will need circulation back in my ass and legs at some point.

I have gotten a good bit done - checked on work, reordered my swim mp3 player that I had to return before, answered some other email and set up an appointment on Wednesday for the interior designer and the electrician (who, hopefully, is going to bring light to my dark living room).

I even went online and requested the follow up appointment with the allergy guy. He wanted to see me again in two weeks. I need to remember to tell him about the cramping. First it was my fingers and toes. The muscles just spaz into cramps that are kind of not pain free. It doesn't happen all the time but it only started after I started these two new inhalers. Today I got a gynormous cramp in my thigh that only lasted less than a minute but OHMFUCKINGOD did it hurt. That shit's gotta stop.

Otherwise, the inhalers seem to be doing their job, I guess. It's hard to tell for sure outside of my normal routine. But, by the time I go back to him, I should have a better idea.

Ok, I have enough computer juice to last me to Seattle and I need to pee. It's time to let someone else use the plug.

And, now I'm home (and G+ still hasn't figured out that my condo is in the 500 block between Occidental and 1st - some 4 blocks or more from where they always think I am. Oh well, I know where I am.
