Even knowing I'd be back last night, I took the week as vacation and I'm glad I did. It's nice to have a day to just be.

All of the computers needed this month's security update which was not a simple one and each needed a reboot. The work one was particularly unhappy about the change but, now, they all seem to be reconciled and working again. And my auto reboot of the router every 4 hours is also still working.

My backpack is pretty much unpacked. It turned out that I took exactly the right amount of stuff. I forgot sunglasses and opera glasses but otherwise, I had just what I needed - no more, no less. I was pretty pleased with myself at my efficiency. Plus, it was a good amount to maneuver to and from.

I don't have much laundry to do but I could stand to toss in a load. I need to cut my fingernails, they are driving me nuts. And put away the rest of my stuff. But, that is all. The housecleaner came yesterday so even the house is rather much in order. Nice.

Yesterday from the LV airport, I signed onto the doctor's website and requested that 2 week follow up appointment. Last night there was a note offering me times. I picked one and just now got a confirmation. I think that for appointment making, it's easier to call but for everything else, this deal rocks.

I'll be soooo glad to get into the swimming pool! I plan to be there when they open at 11.

At the CNET broadcast area, I picked up what turns out to be nearly my favorite gadget of the show, not to mention the coolest swag. It's a very simple little rubber ball with a suction cup that you can use to prop up anything! My phone has a kick stand so it does not need it but my Kindle sure does!

today's basket

Good thing this guy is white - a dark bear would be lost in this muddy shot.

I have several domain's worth of email and a couple of other email addresses running through my gmail account and generally, gmail does a great job of spam scrubbing but in the last 24 hours, they've seemed to have forgotten how. The spam getting through is not of the subtle variety either. Weird.

Oh it was so good to get back in the pool again. Wow. All of my muscles and I agree that we will no more go 5 days with no pool action. But, sadly, the pools will be closed on Monday. Oh well, I've got tomorrow's class (Sundays offer up no good pools/times so I generally skip Sundays but I might make an exception this week.)

CES? Las Vegas hotel with decent wifi? Anybody find one?

This afternoon I have started to not feel that great. Coughing a little and just not breathing like I have been. I am so grateful that I felt so good in Las Vegas. Hopefully, this is just a blip and only for a few hours. So far it's not terrible. Just a little concerning.

I want to be breathing in the morning because I want to go to swim class and then get my hair cut and I want to feel good in the evening, cause I'm having dinner with [livejournal.com profile] machupicchu and then we are going to see Spring Awakenings.

I just took another hit on the 'as needed' inhaler. Maybe that will fix it.

Between Christmas and New Years I had two nights that were just horrible and a little frightening. I just lay awake for most of 8 hour and panted and gasped for breath. This afternoon, breathing was difficult and mostly I worried that I was heading for another one of those nights.

I am now in bed - I'll listen to my book and play computer games until I get sleepy. Generally this is about 11 so that's what I'm shooting for. Right this minute - about 5 minutes after my last hit on the rescue inhaler - I'm feeling ok an breathing pretty well.

I think I'll be sleeping with my fingers crossed. Emphasis on sleeping!
