Today we got ice... I'm looking for two holes in the ice today: the pool and the new router. I'm watching the webcams at 23rd and Jackson. Already they are showing less ice on the road than an hour ago. My class isn't until noon. I'm very hopeful that I'll be able to get there.

Here's the best shot of the action of the now:

That red x is about 2 blocks from my house. If I can make it up that hill, I can make it to the pool.

The tracking page for the new router says it is being 'redelivered' today - like they even tried yesterday. But, what.ev.er. As long as it gets here before this one gives out completely. I'm a little concerned about getting it all set up but I've done it before and I can do it again, hopefully. The user manual seems pretty darned thorough.

This one has the capability for a guest SSID. I'd like to hide my SSID but my phone won't attach to a hidden SSID so I'm thinking of creating one for it and hiding the rest. Maybe. I go back and forth on set up schemes. Mainly, first off, I want a workable wireless network and a wired one that does not need constant rebooting.

The parking lot outside my living room window looks like it is a sheet of ice. It is usually filled by now and there are only a handful of vehicles in it and you can tell by the snow, most were there yesterday.

And the airport is pretty much stalled - they have one runway they are trying to get open.

Now we have freezing rain and sleet. So I may need to dial back my expectations. Oh well. I'm warm, I'm dry, I have food and electricity and my 'office' is less than a foot from here.

Got a note very unsatisfactory email response from Amazon... As usual, they say they will past my complaint on to OnTrac. Since I've made the same complaint every six months for a couple of years now and gotten the same response, I'm underwhelmed, Amazon.
OnTrac tracking hasn't budged since this morning. All other delivery companies have been here today - including two flower deliveries.
Looks like my $80 a year for Prime is going to guarantee my 2-day shipment gets here in 5 days? 6 days? OnTrac is not on any trac I know.
Amazon's email said they couldn't tell which of my orders hadn't been delivered. Uh, one clue, Amazon, might be to check the delivery status. All say delivered except one. A good guess, on your part, would be that one.
Can you tell that I'm getting crankier about this by the minute????? On the up side, I am getting some exercise cause I keep having to get up and reboot the fucking router! grrrrrrr

Here in Pioneer Square, the Century Link parking lot never did get un-white today in spite of their plowing it a couple of times. You still can't see pavement and now it's snowing again - fairly heavily.

ok, pretty hilarious. this morning (and yesterday) i called OnTrac to find out about my package. they could tell me no more than what was on their website.
i just got a call from them and, according to the woman on the phone, 'your package could not be delivered yesterday because of weather.' seriously, that's what she said. WTF???
she said further that it should be here today before 8.
am. not. holding. my. breath.

A new response from Amazon says my package will be here tomorrow (or, if not, to let them know). And, they put $10 in my account towards my next purchase.
I'm ok with being a whore, but I think I'm going to rethink my pricing structure. $10 doesn't even buy my mad. But, I guess I appreciate the effort.

So at 6, OnTrac guy says package is on truck and will be here by 8 p.m. tonight.
At 7, their website says delivery tomorrow.
I give up. I'm going to quit torturing myself. I'll enjoy my Prime deal for the rest of my membership year and then just won't re-up. Non Prime stuff does not draw the short OnTrac straw.
