I just noticed a new icon above the edit window on the LJ web page for Post an Entry. It's in between the image icon and the arrow for embedding content. When I click on it, it tells me that I need to upgrade my account to get the function. When I follow the link to upgrade, it takes me to the page that says my account is permanent and never expires. No upgrade is available.

Nice to have a little mystery in my life, I guess.

I ended up taking out last night's frustration on Amazon with two reports of OnTrac's latest failings. Over the past few years whenever these idiots do not deliver a package or leave it in the wrong place, I have complained. Amazon's reply is always 'we will pass your feedback on to OnTrac'. Last night's note was 'Amazon needs to take responsibility for this vendor who consistently does NOT deliver on time...' And, in fact, this morning, their reply was that they had sent my complaint on to Amazon's department in charge.

I'm not so impressed that they are actually going to do anything to fix the problem but I am again very impressed that they actually read the words and at least reply accordingly. Nice. I so want them to fix this before October when my Prime membership is up for renewal. I want to renew. I just don't want to deal with OnTrac.

It is so wonderful to have new space in my living room. I love it.

This morning I sent Scott, the building manager a note apologizing for last night but also if he had a preference for either of the two recommended junk hauling companies. His reply was that he did not but that some of the guys who work for the management company were looking for odd jobs and he offered to ask them. This would be great cause then he would help ensure it goes smoothly this time.

So things are looking better.

Also finally this morning I can see that my old Simple Plan (401kish deal that I had through work) funds finally got transferred from Wells Fargo to Ameriprise. Those Wells Fargo jerks charged me $95 'closing fee'. I was not surprised and was grateful it wasn't more. I don't know where the new 401k will be set up and it will probably be there so I'm not holding my See Ya Sucka party just yet.

I have some work work to do this morning and swim class at noon and that's about it as far as I know now...

Tomorrow is the first broadcast game of the baseball year (yeah, I count Spring Training...) AND I have a ticket tomorrow night to see Fran Liebowitz talk and be interviewed by Dan Savage. That should be very interesting...

This piece is fascinating. As an active Live Journaler (http://susandennis.livejournal.com/) for 10 years, and remembering the day Khrushchev banged the table with his shoe, I kind of like being part of their revolution.

These guys should have been delivered this morning but... I forgot!!! They were in a bag, in the car and the plan was to drop them off on my way to swim class. But I got totally distracted and when I looked up I was almost late for swim class so no bear drop off (they close at noon). Tomorrow will work just as well.

Dear Restaurant website people,
If you put your hours and address somewhere on your website where I can find it, I'm liable to come spend money at your establishment. I'm far more interested in your hours and location than I am in your fancy not-needed web coding tricks.
Love,
me

See those blue trailers there on the right - see the condos there? if you look up four floors (not top floor with the chimneys but the one just below it) and count 7 from the left... that's ME!!!!

I have an xml file coming back from QA (the really nice QA guy just gave me the heads up via IM) so I'm waiting... I could leave it until tomorrow but I'd love to get it fixed and back to QA tonight. It's for a publish at midnight Sunday so the runway is only tomorrow and it would be really nice of me to give them the whole day.

So I wait.

OnTrac delivered one package today but not the other. Their website says the 2nd one is out for delivery but I learned long ago that means nada coming from them.

Scott the building manager gave me the phone number of a guy to call. Scott said that the guy would handle the removal of the rest of the stuff - maybe even tomorrow. I called. Got voice mail. Left message. Heard nothing yet.

Not a whole lot else happening... the cats are reminding me that this is when they often eat dinner and wouldn't it be nice if that happened today? Like NOW!! ok. While I wait, I can feed, I guess.

For years I have heard that an ice cube in carpet divots will help the fibers come back to life and fill in the divots faster. I think I've tried it without success but the desk left some pretty severe sunken spots so this morning I put an ice cube in each one and forgot about them. Tonight I finally remembered to notice and BAM! Sunken spots are gone!! Love it.

I had lasagna for dinner and I ate all of it but I did not lick the plate clean. Usually, when I get up from dinner, Betty comes around and I put the plate on the kitchen floor for her to investigate. Usually she looks and smells and moves on. Tonight she licked the plate clean! I wonder if I should mention that on Chef Anita's feedback sheet?

There is some kind of private event going on at the Century Link Field. They have a nice marching band going now and are supposed to have fireworks at 8. No clue who/what but it must be at least partially outside and way chilly!
