So, it looks like 'we'll be back between 8 and 8:30' in electrician speak means 'we'll be back after 9ish'. Interesting.

Why in the world tell someone you will be there between 8 and 8:30 and not show and not even call or text to explain or send new time??? I do not understand this at all. Not one bit.

The electrician and his helper - both of whom are very pleasant to be around and seem very good at what they do - said they would be here between 8 and 8:30. "Is 8 too early for you?" "Oh, no, 8 is fine." "Cool, ok, we'll be here then."

It's now 9:15 and not a word, a peep, a sign from anyone.

I get that some people (lots actually) mean "I intend to get there at xxx but probably won't come close as I always am late and don't give a shit how you feel about it." But, I sure wish they would learn to promise differently.

I wonder if they ever get pissed because people lie to them about being on time.

This is why I hate interior design changes. They are like root canals without Novocaine. The results are great but getting there could not be more painful.

The electricians are gone and there is light. Six new recessed lights sprinkled throughout the living room and new track lighting over one wall. There is still one track left to be installed but it is a replacement and the drywall needs to be fixed first. They will be back a week from Friday to finish up that and do the work over by the desk - adding outlets.

I now have three lamps going back to the wild tomorrow. It's just amazing to have all this light in this room. Beyond nice.

Plus they replaced nearly every outlet in the house. Most were so bad - lose - you'd plug something in and it would fall out. Now nothing falls out. Several two plug outlets are now six. Three are now six with 2 USB outlets.

And tidy. Very nice.

I sill have piles of stuff in the bedroom and fishroom. My desktop and printer are still out of commission. I have holes in the wall. And one in the ceiling. And it's going to stay like this until Tuesday. Best case scenario (and Sheri's latest schedule) has it all done by a week from tomorrow. I'm guessing it will actually be the week after that.

But, my new table comes tomorrow. I wanted to have it delivered after everything else was done but they won't hold it any longer (I suspect I could offer them 'rent' if I really wanted them to hold it) and I figured what the heck. I might as well enjoy it now. Plus, I've never even seen it so why not.

Now I am going to find something for dinner. I'm starving.

Helping electricians all day is exhausting.
