For months and months now (since last September, I think), I have suited up and headed across town to a great swim class that starts at 8:30 every Saturday morning. (The class is aqua jogging/exercise.) It's a great way to start Saturdays. The teacher is great and so is the class. It's fun and feels good. When I'm done, I go out to brunch and then do other Saturday things.

But not today. The post cataract surgery instructions include staying out of the pool for 3 weeks. The doctor said that if I wore goggles and didn't get my face wet (doable since the water work is all done vertically, I could probably go back in a week or so. The surgery was 4 days ago so going today would stretch it quite a bit. So... no pool today. Because I promised to help with neighborhood clean up next Saturday, it's going to be June 9 before I get back to my class. Sigh.

Today, I think I'll head south. I have a short list of things I want to do all of them around Renton which is about 15 minutes south of here. I'm having coffee now but I think I'll hold off breakfast until I hit the road.

I usually go out to brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and write up my experiences with photos for my brunch blog. http://brunchseattle.blogspot.com/ There's an IHOP near where I'm going and I have done an IHOP yet on the blog... maybe today.

It's a little too early to head out. I think I'll waste some more time piddling on the computer before I hit the shower.

Today turned out to be errand day and it was good.

I wear the same kind of pants every day - knitted long pants with pockets either blue, black or gray. I noticed recently that my supply is getting pretty tattered. I think it's about time to share them with the Goodwill and get new.

Sears carries them sometimes as does Target but I'm big on JC Penney's because of their support of Ellen DeGeneres so today it was off to Penney's and I hit paydirt. They had the perfect pants. But it's a brand I haven't tried before. So I bought 8 pair. I'm washing one pair now so I can see if they still work after washing. If they don't, I'll take them all back and get a different size.

The Penney's store is so big and pretty an the people who work there are so nice. It's totally worth going out of my way.

I also stopped at Walmart and Costco. I got everything on my list. It is now all put away. The laundry is in the dryer. And all is good.

Next up is to inventory the freezer. Chef Anita does not come for another week. (She's the first and third Tuesday and this was a month of 5 Tuesdays.) I need to see what meals I've got left and what things I need to buy to go with them. My goal is to have a clean, clear freezer and fridge when she gets here next. Also, I've got nothing for lunch next week. I think I'm going back to Smith's for brunch tomorrow and there's a big, nice Safeway right across the street. 2 birds... etc.

Ooops dryer's done. Time to fold.

Etc.

Ann just stopped by to report. Her husband, Ron, had what appears to be very successful bypass surgery this morning. She seemed way better herself. She thinks he'll get sprung from the hospital Monday or Tuesday.

The laundry is done and I think I need one size larger on the pants so I'll take 'em back maybe Monday.

I did, however, cull out a bunch of the old ones and put them in the Goodwill bag.

Inventory of the freezer/fridge is done and there ain't too much there. But there is a feast for tonight. Meatloaf, gorganzola mashed potatoes and roasted garlic green beans. Yum. List for the store tomorrow is done.

The baseball game starts in 20 minutes and bear knitting will be done. Starting now.

3 innings of the FOX announcers is all I can stand. i hit mute and am now listening via MLB AT bat on the phone One of the better announcers is doing radio. Nice. The fact that the TV is a good 2 to 3 mins ahead of the audio is only a little disconcerting.
