Cat food, brunch, air conditioner, groceries, baseball... for starters.

Betty, my teeny tiny kitty, threw up dinner last night and breakfast this morning. She's too tiny to let this go on for too long. I'm pretty sure last night's issue was cheap cat food. Crap. I hate having a caviar cat. But she's getting on in age. So I need to go find some fancy food.

I think I'm going to head out to Capital Hill for brunch. There's a fancy pet food store and grocery nearby.

Today might be coming out day for the air conditioner. It's on wheels and lives in a closet on the terrace. The set up involves a pet door insert that I modified for venting outside and making sure all the bits work. It's not really hot enough yet... except at night. During the day, while it might be cool enough with just the door open, the building noise across the street sometimes gets too much and I have to close the door. Plus, they are still on sale now for a reasonable price (I saw them at Costco yesterday.) When it gets really hot the price goes up. IF mine - now about 5 or 6 years old - needs to be replaced, now is the time to do it, not when it gets really hot.

So, while it's early yet, I think I'll go ahead and set it up this afternoon.

After a few now, apparently aberrant wins, the Mariners are back to their sucky selves. But I watch them anyway. Hope springs eternal, I guess.

I do need to go to Penney's and swap out the pants I bought yesterday, but I may put that off until tomorrow. We'l see.

It's early but I think I'll get showered and dressed and head out anyway. I'll take Kindle in case I get stuck waiting for somewhere to open.

Glo's totally rocks. No place to park, always a line to get in and absolutely worth the hassle.

Nope, I'm waiting for Betty to throw up. Fun times. I stopped at the high priced pet food store and picked up 3 different cans of cat food that the cute little guy recommended - he didn't even charge me for them. He called them testers. So nice. I feel guilty enough buying cheapo cat food. Now could lose my nerve all together.

I opened up a can when I got home and she dove into it. Poor thing is probably starving. She ate maybe 3/4ths of it. And now I'm waiting. So far, so good. This morning, she ate dry food and thew it up about 10 minutes later. Last night, it was the cheap canned stuff and I don't know the time frame. Today we're on high alert. But she's right here on my lap looking for a chin scratch.

She's not lethargic at all or uninterested in food so I'm hopeful.

It's lovely and cool. Seem so silly to haul out the A/C.

Betty's at the vets and none too pleated about it. Probably a waste of time and money, but too late to back out now...

Betty did not throw up the expensive food but she did seem to me to be getting a little lethargic after all and I know the vet is closed tomorrow (but open today) so I just called. And got an appointment and spent $150 and really she's fine. She screeched all the way there (so much for lethargic) and then, while we were waiting for the vet, she hopped out of her carrier and up onto the table and proceeded to watch traffic out the window.

Her temperature is normal and the really nice vet gave her a good feel up and some fluids and some anti-nausea drug and said she really thought Betty was ok. Betty squealed all the way home and once inside popped out of her carrier like it was on fire. She went to the closet (where she goes when she's pissed) and that's where we stand now.

Travis (the other cat) seems a bit miffed at not getting any of this attention but he'll get over it.

We did manage to get home just as the Mariner game let out. And that was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be so all is good.

Before we left I did get the air conditioner set up. I think/hope I have one more good year with this one. I'll replace it next year, I think. But for this year, I think we're good to go.

Oh and in so not breaking news... the Mariners lost again. Of course.
