So.  When as soon as the new furniture was installed at the end of March, we found a flaw.  Built into the desk is a skirt - a wooden piece to match hides the wires and cables.  The installer cute a hole at the end for the cables and wires to go through.  So, once everything was installed, the board was not removable.  Every time I had to get to the wires and cables it was a giant, huge, frustrating, freaking pain in the ass and the back and everywhere else.  Getting the skirt back on needed 4 hands and 3 people including one tiny one inside to hold all the bits in place.  It was a disaster.

Sheri had the great idea of modifying the skirt so that it could be totally removed and replaced with ease.  The cabinet maker would do it when he came to check out a drawer problem.  He came but he said he didn't have a saw so he couldn't fix it.  So Sheri said she'd get her handiman to come.  That was 6 fucking weeks ago.  I'm not entirely sure if Sher was the problem or the handyman or both but they were supposed to come last week, then this week, then Monday and today she sent a mail that it would be Thursday and I said no.

I want this fixed so I can fix all the cables and get it one right.  I am not going to wait any more.  I told her I'd go buy a saw and do it myself or find somebody to it.  I was tired of getting jerked around.

desk fix
On my way in from the pool, I ran into Scott, the building manager and I asked him if he didn't have some kind of small saw that I could operate that would do the job.  He said 'sure'.  He gave me the cutest little hand held saw. I don't even know what kind it is but the damn thing worked like a fucking charm.  The deed was done - quite nicely - in 3 mins.

My cuts are cleaner and nicer looking than the whole the guy drilled originally!  And I didn't have to even unplug anything to do it.  I feel so accomplished!  I just wish I'd done this six week ago!

Sheri says she'll be here with the LEDs tomorrow afternoon.  Good thing cause the damn breaker went off again today cause I forgot to turn off the lights when Amira ran the vacuum.

I actually have a fair amount of work to do today but...my work machine needed a giant pile of updates and hit a security wall so I had to stop and do them all.  So far it's been about an hour.  But it's early done now.

I got my paystub today for tomorrow's paycheck and the 401K kicked in. Yeah!  Now I don't have to worry about that any more.

My latest worry is my right hand index finger... you know the one that I use to click the mouse?  To operate the remote control? To knit with?  To cut my meat with?  To do most everything else with????  That index finger?  Well, the joint nearest the tip is driving me crazy.  It hurts when I touch it or use it. Sometimes it hurts a lot, sometimes it only hurts a little but always.  I'm sure it's arthritis.  I'm sure it will get worse.  I'm sure I'm going to be really pissed about that starting probably quite soon.

I mentioned it to my doctor and suggested I try Glucosamine Chondroitin.  But, he said, if it doesn't work in a month - definitely 2 months, don't waste my money.  So far no good.

My father had arthritis in his hands and it was really painful for him to do much of anything with them.  I need my hands a lot.  Not good.

Ok, machine is nearly ready for work and I need to return Scott's saw.

We have a new development in The Tree That I Hate*.  This bitch has built a whole house in it!!  Rent free.

*I hate this tree because it totally blocks my view and it's ugly.  It was planted after I bought the place and took a dozen years to grow tall enough to block the view I had, by that time, fallen in love with.  It's planted in the sidewalk on my side of the street outside my terrace.

Google + has started (or I've just started noticing) YOU MAY KNOW over on the right hand side.  They show me people that I have people in common with and people from my contacts.   I have no clue who 85% of the people 'in your contacts' are.... clearly someone needs to do some contact cleanup!
