For as long as I've lived in Seattle (20 years), the center of town has been a ''ride free' bus zone.  A long strip from here down about 3 miles to the other side of downtown and over about a half a mile was totally free.  Get on a bus, go where you want, pay nothing.  A truly great deal and one I used a whole lot.  Today is the last day of it.  They announced it about 3 months ago and except for the homeless who need to get from services on one side of town to services on the other, the complaint volume was curiously very low. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who is truly annoyed.

My free trips to the movies is over.  It will cost me $2.50 to get there now.  Sigh.   In a year and a half, I'll be able to get an old people's card and that will help.  In the interim, I will probably reconsider getting in the car and going somewhere else where there is free parking at least sometimes.

I did get the wordpress.com project of my brother taken care of.  Mostly it turned out to be a piece of cake.  I do want to go back and do some cleanup and see if I can tweak a stylesheet.  But, mainly the content is now merged.

Last night I polished my fingernails - a pearlized purple.  Polish will not stay on when I'm in the pool every day so I figured I'd just take advantage of my pool break.  My arms look horrible.  The normal blood bruises are back plus they had a hard time getting the IV line in on Tuesday and the result is a giant really purple splotch on my forearm.  But my nails look great!!!

I have to apply for more jobs today. I'm behind my on my quota.  Right after this entry.  I promise.

Then Costco.  I need bacon and I want to get it before the bacon shortage hits. And then maybe a movie. Maybe I should take my last free ride and go see one.

I did go to Costco.  I found half the stuff I wanted and wandered around a little.  My lungs are just not liking leaving the house.  I get out of the house, enjoy the tiniest of exertion and I start coughing and panting.  Not a whole lot but enough to annoy the shit out of me.  On the way home I stopped at Grocery Outlet for those things I couldn't find at Costco.

Once safely ensconced in my own house I can do what I want and breath fine with no coughing or panting.  I cleaned up the kitchen, reorganized the freezer, put away all my shopping.  No coughing no panting.

I think it's all in my head.  But I'm going to keep my head in its safe place today.  Tomorrow I will walk uptown to get some exercise and catch an early movie and test out my theory.

In memory of Travis... he always made staging these bears twice as hard as it needed to be. It took me half the time to get them set up - I miss that trickster!
