Having enjoyed robust health all my life, I'm not used to paying attention to how I feel. I'm used to taking for granted that all is working so if I got a twinge, or an ache, I just ignored it and it went away.

Now I feel like I'm obsessing about every single thing. I still think this rescue inhaler is making me cough and cramping my fingers and toes and has caused a minor problem with one thigh muscle. Plus, the asshat doctor says that I should use it as needed. But he seems to think that I need it every 4-6 hours so I think he and I have different definitions of 'as needed'.

This morning I had a thought about the Advair. How do I even know I'm getting any of it? The first kind of had left kind of a sweet taste on my tongue. This higher dose kind of does but not as much. What if the inhaler itself is not working. How would I know??

I have learned that looking this stuff up on the internet is tres counterproductive. It takes only seconds to get mired in the forum entries from people reporting use of these drugs leads to everything from ear mites to world hunger. If suggestion has any power, and I read many more of those things, I'll be in a giant world of hurt.

As it is now, I sometimes feel perfect and sometimes feel cruddy. And these sometimeses can last an hour or a day or more. Happily mostly I feel good.

And I feel better as I get more history and learning of what happens when.

What I am doing is collecting info and questions for the good doctor. I go see him next Friday and I will be prepared.

Meanwhile today I'm baking breakfast muffins, keeping an eye on work which is still slow, planning on a noon swim and thinking about what I might do this weekend. Right now the slate is clear except swim class Saturday morning. Maybe this will just be a TiVo bear-knitting weekend.

I thought this stuff I'm inhaling for my breathing issues - one or both of them - was affecting my appetite. I get full much faster on less. Which is great. Except I just read in several places that at least one of them is purported to increase your appetite. Ok. That's it. I'm done reading about drugs on the internet.

J. Hunter contacts me to ask if I know of any jobs, leads, pointers. I give him the name and contact info of the guy at my company responsible for hiring as well as an invitation to use my name and a bit about the kind of skills/people they are generally looking for.

J. Hunter says thank you and the next time I hear from him is 4 years later when, once again, he's looking for a job.

I honestly think there is a bit missing here. Seems to me like he might have at least touched base when he went to work for someone else.

This happens to me a lot. Twice this week - two different J. Hunters. I think a lot of people stop reading the how to network book after the first chapter when it says 'reach out to everyone you know'.

I think it's pretty intuitive to follow up and keep in touch but, apparently, not. It would be so nice to know if the contact was contacted, how it went, where you ended up and why and how it's going so far... etc.

When they come back again - years later with about the exact same email, my bucket o' help is pretty empty.

***+Matthew McQuilkin, you, particularly, will love this... Google Maps now gives you boundaries. Fire up http://maps.google.com and plug in Seattle. It outlines the city limit there in pink!
Try king county, wa. It does some zip codes - not mine but it does what used to be my mom's 29401
Too cool.

OOOPS
My latest order just arrived from +Herrschners. I always order 1 skein of each color but because of the way their website works, I always hit 11 instead. I always go back over my order and fix all the 11's making them 1's. Except this time. I missed one. There will be a boatload of Dusty Rose teddy bears in the near future :) It's not fatal. I'll use it all up eventually, it was on sale and I got it during a free shipping sale. And it's not a horrible color.
On the up side, my stash drawer is so full it wanted to burp.

This just rocks my socks. Google has me tagged wrong. I am not the 62 year old woman I pretend to be, not the 35-44 year old man that Google thinks I am, I am a 7 year old boy. This delight just proves it. I'm adding cheese to mine.
