Back at the dr... Just a check this time and it's the good dr

Even my cute never-late doctor was late this morning. BUT the first thing out of his mouth was a profound apology for being late. So, of course, I forgave him instantly. It was a good session. He's such a good listener.

He gave me cough pills. We discussed what 'as needed' means and turns out I was right and Dr. Asshat was wrong. So I'll be using a lot less of that that Combivent. Probably just once a day on good days - just before I go to the pool.

He gave me cough pills to take as needed and we discussed what that 'as needed' is, too. I probably won't be taking too many of those either. (By the way, this house is becoming a pharmacy... with a half door and a white coat, I could set up shop.) I told him about the voice issues - mildly hoarse to no voice and, honestly, didn't really need to since today was pretty much a very hoarse day (thank you, voice, for helping me out there). He said that it was probably related to the cough.

But he, like Dr. Asshat, says the muscle cramps aren't related to anything. I think they are both wrong. But, I'll play along with the nice dr. The foot cramps are the worst. They fuck up my night's sleep and my swimming - my two sacred areas! Fortunately the hand cramps rarely interfere with knitting.

He wants an ultrasound of my legs. A week from Monday. And he wanted blood. So I dropped in on the lab. I got a really nice young girl and apologized in advance. I have the world's tiniest veins that are also impossible to find and get to. She was good and patient and got it on the second try. But, even more impressively, left NO bruises. I don't even remember the last time I escaped without black and blue arms.

Oh and I asked him, since I'm not allergic to anything, did I have to go back to Dr. Asshat the allergist. He allowed as how he was more than just allergy and I said that I just was not comfortable with him or his staff. He said to come back to see him (Nice doctor) in a month and we'd discuss. Ok with me.

It was a good, informative visit. I feel more in charge of me and able to control what makes me feel fine. And way less like an ill person. And, for the first time since last October, I have NO doctor's appointments for a whole month!!! (I'm stretching it because of the ultra sound but hey, I make the rules.)

Yeah.

Swimming today. No class but I think I'll go in about noon.

I tried the ankle floats again today and I'm sold. They are pricey. $55. But, my legs feel like they got their money's worth when I get out of the pool and all afternoon after. I could continue to borrow the pool's but, 1. they belong to another pool and 2. it's a bother to have to snag a lifeguard to go get them (they can't be left out because they belong to another pool) and 3. they are actually a mis matched pair - the buckle of one is on the inside which isn't ideal. So I'm just going to buy my own. Well, I actually already did. Online.

So step back. My legs will soon be able to take your legs. The pool has nice hand buoys for giving me Michele Obama arms. So I'm all good now.

I have a nice amount of work to be done. I'll actually be able to finish it all today and have the weekend free. Not that I particularly have weekend plans but I could if I wanted to.

Snack time is now over. Back to work!

The pile driving started on the North Century Link parking lot project today. It's supposed to go on for 45 days (week days). I'm trying to ignore it. Pile driving around here is not terribly unusual. We've had a whole lotta building since I moved in here 20 years ago. So I know, this, too, will pass... but pound, pound, pound, pound, pound... It's going to be a long 45 days :)

***Smart Car Cruisin'
My experience has been that when in my adorable Smart Car and I pass another Smart Car on the road or stopped at at traffic light, the other driver not only does not return my friendly wave and smile but, instead, totally ignores me. I have found this exceedingly weird. It happens a whole lot.
But, more than once, I've come out of a store to find another Smart Car parked right next to mine. This never fails to make me giggle. The smile on their grill faces sitting next to each is just the funniest thing.
Tonight I made a quick trip to a small grocery store. The parking lot which was about half full. When I came out, there was a shiny black Smart Car parked right next to mine. I toyed with the idea of hanging around to see who belonged to it. But, instead, I left an anonymous note "my green Smart Car enjoyed chatting with yours".
