Today, before I come back home, I need to get cash and gas. I don't know why it is so hard for me to get gas into the car. I never think of it until I am in my garage where there is not one single gas pump. I guess part of the reason is there is no good gas station near here. There are a couple not too far but one is impossible to do business with and the other is scary.

There are plenty between here and the pool and between the pool and brunch. I just need to remember to stop at one!

I woke up early this morning - helped by cats. I turned on the radio and listened to NPR while I dozed. One very appreciated feature of my internet radio is that the alarm keeps its volume regardless and turns on at the appointed time. So I can turn on the radio and turn the volume down and, then, at the time I set, the volume will go up enough to catch my attention in cased I'm snoozing. It's kind of like a reverse snooze alarm and I love it.

I don't have a lot of other errands or stuff I want or need to do today after brunch so I'll likely just come on home and watch the ballgame and putter around and enjoy the weekend.

I will be so glad when May 22nd comes. I am so ready to get this thing out of my eye and be able to see again. I feel like my nose is going to get a scab on it from holding stuff up so close so I can see it without my glasses because I'm too lazy to get up and hunt them down. I'm going to be very disappointed if on May 23rd I wake up and still need them!

Time now to suit up and get to the pool!

I got cash and I got gas. I'm proud. I should have gotten the car washed but two out of three's not bad.

Now we're watching the ballgame. Travis's new favorite spot is under the table on the ottoman or in one of the chairs. Betty's taking advantage of his not being in my lap and claiming that for herself.

I just got email from my boss with news of the new 401K. The good news is that we're finally getting it. The bad news is that in order to get the most tax advantage for this calendar year, I'm going to be cash poor for the second half of the year. I'm going to have to stuff a big ole piece of my paycheck into the plan to get the most out of it.

He's matching the usual percentage but, because he was so late in the year, he's going to stuff everyone's account with a bonus. I think that is very cool. He's such a good guy. At least I can afford to contribute the max and, it's not like I'm saving for an unforeseeable future, I absolutely can see it!

The folks building the building across the street work on Saturdays and now, since they are moving up to my level, I'm hearing much more construction detail. So much, in fact, that I can't even hear the football game going on in the stadium. It's University of Wa and I don't know how many actually showed up to see the game so maybe there isn't anything to hear. It was nice to hear the marching band before the game, though.

ARUGH. Handy man just canceled my 11 am appointment tomorrow to rehang the stain glass. I've had the appointment for more than a week but at the last minute, turns out another customer is far more important than I am. Crap.

ok, I need to stop googling handymen and sending off pitiful emails.

So the handyman cancelled on me which really pissed me off more than it should have. And then that fact alone annoyed the hell out of me. It's no wonder I'm not fit to live with anybody.

But on the other hand, it tickles me that I can sit here on a Saturday night and find other handymen, vet them, send inquiries and already hear back from one - efficiently responding on his cellphone that isn't even an iPhone. Nice. And he's coming next week.

Turns out I'm actually glad cause I'd like to have another handyman in my pocket, so to speak.

I was all set for a fast brunch in the morning and now I don't have to but the ballgame does start at 10 so maybe it wouldn't be bad to get out, get et and get home.

Now I am going to bed.
