I grew up in North Carolina where dogwoods were everywhere always.  Here in Seattle, they are a special treat.  At the Meadowbrook Community Center they are in full glorious bloom right now and just beautiful.

Fed Ex is outdoing itself this week.  I have two packages - one from Amazon and one from another place.  Both sent via Fed Ex but two different Fed Ex's.  The other place Fed Ex shows on their web page that yesterday they tried to deliver but I was not home.  Not only is that totally untrue, I have the cellphone to prove it.  In order to get in here, you have to call me.  They didn't.  Check my phone.   Their website now says the package is 'out for delivery'.

Fed Ex delivered my Amazon package this morning while I was out - they called, I buzzed them in, they left it at my door.  See, Fed Ex?  You can do it if you try.

I'm not holding my breath for the other package and, honestly, I don't care.   I'm not going to be doing any more business with that company cause I'm not putting up with this delivery crap and it's the only service they use.  I'll get my money back eventually.

It is amusing, however, to have the comparison and the data.

Swim class this morning was fabulous.  After class, I found out the great teacher is moving on to an outdoor pool this summer and likely won't be teaching water aerobics.  Sigh.  She's jazzed about the move so I can't really complain except, of course, I will.  They have some other good teachers there so maybe...

The pool she's moving to is an outdoor salt water heated pool.  I've never been in one those those.  Starting June 30, they have a hydro fit class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 - not my best time to go but not the worst.  I'm going to have to try it at least once.

I made a quick dip into the grocery before brunch and then I hustled home.  The traffic around here wasn't too bad yet so I made it home safe and sound.  The 'hood is full of grads and parents.  Kind of fun to see.

This afternoon I plan to make some breakfast quiche muffins, replace the boobs in a swimsuit with regular lining, watch the ballgame and just generally piddle around.  Laundry could be done but I really need to save something for tomorrow!

eye report

On Tuesday it will be three weeks since my cataract was removed.

Over the past 3 weeks, I've adjust enough so that I can now pretty much spend the day without any glasses.  In dark areas, I need them to see print.  Initially, it was hard to see words on my phone, but now it's much easier.  It is easy peasy to see this computer, other computers and my Kindle Fire.

This laptop (the ASUS UX31) has a much more beautiful screen without cataracts.  It was a nice screen before but now it's stunning.

On rare occasions when I read print on paper (mainly magazine while eating dinner), I use glasses.  Sometimes when on the work laptop  but really that's it.  Oh I used them this morning at the restaurant but only because I was in a dark corner.

I have had some discomfort.  About once a day, very randomly, I get a sharp stab of pain.  It lasts about a 10th of a second.  It's so quick that I really wonder if I didn't imagine it.  And sometimes that eye feels gritty at the end of the day.  I have not had enough nerve to get my face in the pool.  I tried goggles an ugh.  So I ordered a mask - kind of like safety glasses with a strap on the back.

I'm tracking all this stuff for when I got back to see the eye doctor in 3 weeks.

I'm still so impressed with the process and the results.  Amazing, really.

I am not a fan of the Fox baseball announcers.  I miss Dave and Mike.  I'm having to listen on my phone via MLB at Bat with the TV on mute which is so not sync'd and annoying.  whine, bitch, moan

I rarely watch videos on my stream, and almost never cat videos and I have no clue why I clicked on this one but it is adorable...  with no annoying music.
