alexa, thank my driver
Dec. 19th, 2022 08:23 amI heard the other day that after your Amazon package is delivered, if you say, "alexa, thank my driver", your driver will get $5. So I've been doing it. (Obviously, it doesn't work with USPS or UPS or any other non Amazon drivers). This morning, I actually remembered to check and see if it actually does. The Amazon driver sub reddits all report that, indeed, they get $5 a thank you! I think that's pretty cool.
This morning's delivery is a k-cup variety pack. 3 each of a wide variety of different coffees. I broke out a notebook and pen for keeping track of how each tastes. Should be fun and way cheaper than buying a pound of each.
And in other news... snow! Just before I went to bed last night, I could see snowflakes in the parking lot lights across the street. This morning, that lot was bare and dry.

But then the Mariners posted this really nice shot of the ballpark - 2 blocks away - this morning. Also now that it's daylight, the front door TV Network shows a respectable dusting in the median down 1st Ave. And there is more promised. It's certainly chilly enough. 27 (-1) outside and 58 inside.
I'm loving these new sweatpants! And the cats are each curled into their own bed.
Today is laundry day. And other chores day. No reason to leave the house.
Last night I started watching Justified. I never watched it when it was on originally but always meant to catch up. I love Timothy Oliphant and Wayne Goggins. I was pecking around looking for something to watch last night when I fell over it. YES. Perfect. Many seasons. Many eps. Just what I need to get me through the halmark season and beyond. It's on Hulu.
Still listening to Lawn Boy by Jonathan Evison and now I'm not interested in it ending. If I'm careful, I can maybe stretch it out over two more nights. We'll see.
Now it's time for the treadmill and then a shower.
I think a bird(s) just did some trash talking on the other side of the glass.

After some serious eye, they both curled back up into their beds. But those birds are now on notice for sure.

Date: 2022-12-20 03:18 pm (UTC)Which reminds me of the day in February(?) of 1997 – that was a particularly snowy winter in Boston – when I had an appointment at Fenway Park to see if the seat locations being offered as improvements over the seats that I had were suitable (one of them was). I was assured that the seats I was choosing were right behind third base, but I had to take the guy's word for it, because third base (like all the other bases) was completely invisible; there was a tunnel that had been dug out from home plate to the mound, but the rest of the field was under what looked like about four feet of snow.
