Safe Swim

The water aerobics class starts at 8:30. I like to have 45 mins to an hour for my swim. So rather than stress about it, I just got up early and got it done. So now it's 8:30 and I've swum, internetted, made my bed and gotten dressed. Oh and shot my new upgraded Wegovy. I can't tell a difference between the 2.5 and the 5 yet but, it's only been about 10 minutes. So maybe a little more time is needed or maybe I won't feel a difference.

The Wegovy Reddit groups are mostly posts about horrible side effects with a few stunning before and now photos thrown in. As with most of Reddit, those who do not have horror tales to tell, do not post there. The rest just try to out-horror each other. I read through the various groups from time to time because it makes me feel like a vastly superior human being.

Yesterday my shoe got stuck on the floor and I landed smack on my ass. Downstairs in front of people. It was pretty hilarious. But, happily, my ass still has a lot of padding and really that's where I landed - legs and arms up in the air like a fucking cartoon. Zero damage except to that feeling of being a vastly superior human being. That got bruised a bit. But, honestly, around here, falling to the floor like that with zero damage is a massive win. So cool.

I'm off this morning to return this pile of Amazon stuff before it gets too big for me to carry. Then the Mariners play at 11.

All knitters and crocheters and nearly any kind of maker understands the concept of WIP - works in progress. You are working on a project and SQUIRREL!! another comes along before the first is finished and you start the other one - lather, rinse, repeat. A lot of WIPs turn into permanent UFOs - unfinished objects - if you aren't careful. I decided a while ago that I was ok with parallel projects but I needed organization. So I got it. Each project has everything it needs - hook/needles/yarn/markers all together with paper and pen and each has good notes. These are not all of them but most.

There is a crochet blanket, a Tunisian crochet blanket, a pair of moccasins (crochet), a vest crochet and a bag or amigurumi toys. And then I have a box of the knitted toys for the shelf. Yesterday I got the Tunisian blanket well under way and today is going to be vest day. I have the back done and I need to focus to get the sleeve holes right and the pocket slit and then the rest will be mindless as will the second front. I do want to finish that as I love the yarn and the stitch and I will actually wear it because Pockets!

But, first, errands. I need to stop at Safeway, too.

You just reminded me of something that happened when someone who comes to my class at one location joined me at the other. I don't know why she didn't go down the pool steps and through the water instead of around to where there's not even a ladder, but when she sat down at the edge of the pool, she rolled backwards FAST on her butt, arms and legs splayed wide. Thankfully she didn't smash her head into the deck and got right up.

It could never happen to me, for I have no ass.

Also thanks for posting those baskets. They look useful and I may have to grab a few.
