Sick Kitty
May. 16th, 2002 12:05 pmI have a sick kitty. I got this cat 5 years ago. I called the vet to see which animal shelter would be a good one to go to for adopting a kitty and they said 'well, we have one...' She was brought in to them after she was hit by a car and was basically road pizza. So her name is Pizza. She's a tiny tiny thing with a sily black coat. They had patched her up pretty well. She no longer had good cat balance but otherwise has been pretty healthy since. No one can figure out how old she is but everyone agrees she's no spring chicken.
She's mostly very perky and pretty annoying. She's very vocal and come dinner time, she's a royal pain in the ass. If you do not get up and feed her she will ensure your life is not worth living. In the mornings, she sits by my pillow and the minute the radio goes off, she's whiskers in my face until she gets breakfast.
A few days ago she totally knocked off the morning routine. She would just sit on the floor. And she was very mopey and quiet. Last night she had a hard time getting up on the couch and she fell of more than once and howled. When I pick her up she's fine, tho, so it's not like she has a hurt limb. She is drinking a lot of water and not eating much.
Anyway, I called the vet and we're going in this afternoon. I know I'm not going to have her forever and maybe not for long but I would like to squeeze out a few more whisker mornings.
