Funny how things cycle through. I'm a fairly voracious reader. And feeding the habit takes a bit of work. Lately I've had a hard time finding a good read. I have several shelves of ToBeReadNext books but the last few I've picked up have been moved to the ToBeSold shelf after the first 50 pages.

Then I got a note from a guy who runs a bookshop in San Francisco and reads the book reviews on my website for recommendations. He offered one - a science fiction selection. I've never read much (hardly any actually) science fiction but why not so I got it and am reading it now and it's good so far.

Yesterday I got a note from another regular looking for more books by an author we both like. It took some research but I found two other books he had written (and the mention of a third) - available in UK only. But, I'll probably get one of them because it was fairly reasonably priced.

Today I got a note from one of the guys who regularly checks my Kingdome pages and he wants to read some good mysteries and asked me to name three that would capture him. What a fun exercise.

It's been a real book loaded several days. Maybe this will get me out of my book slump and back to a string of good ones. By the way, I only read junk. Mostly (by a long shot) hard mysteries (as opposed to cozies) and thrillers. I'm a real snob about what I will and won't read. And, I'll probably stay that way until I run out of the stuff I want to read. Then I may have to relax my standards.
