My Friday afternoons off have turned into Errand Afternoons. But, that's ok. I get stuff done and still have my weekends.

This afternoon was a major find. I love getting a manicure. We had this very funky place a few blocks from work that was dirt cheap, very quick and took drop ins. We (my manager and I) used to sneak in there whenever we needed to. One day, a few months back, she came in with her chin on the floor to announce that the manicure place had totally closed and disappeared. We searched in vain for a replacement.

(Interesting factoid... need a lead on a good manicurist? As your mail carrier. I have this wonderful guy who delivers to both my house and my office and is a terrific and fun person. He's also a great source of neighborhood info so I asked him if he knew anything about the manicure place disappearance. He said no and 'all the guys at the shop' were really torked. I looked at him quizzically and he told me that mail carriers love pedicures and always know the best places to get one cheap.)

Anyway... I found a new place today and tried it out. It's not nearly as handy as it involves my getting into the car, but it's not too bad and it's a very pleasant place. The woman who did my nails was very good and very nice and fun. Great find. Made an appointment for Friday after next.

Then on to the grocery for a few items, and to the copy shop to get a poster made for work, and to the hardware store to get a lamp to replace the one that's broken and to the gas station to get... well, you get the drift. It is hot and I am beat but I flat got stuff done and now I don't have to do anything else until Monday morning. Sweet.
