Kind of a more interesting day today. I have long been at war with our huge color printer and kind of in battle with our smaller color printer. Much of my job is preparing marketing collateral - simple brochures and flyers and stuff so I am pretty dependant on color printers and on their working. Today I won the war, I think with the huge one and made piece with the smaller one. This could be good.
I also found some slides that one of our directors was looking for, negotiated a couple of deals on behalf of my now nearly parented manager and set up two pretty critical vendor meetings for Monday. And I took the afternoon off so I'm not feeling like today sucked really badly. It's now nearly 5 p.m. and I just checked work email and if the world ended, no one sent me notice of it or any other disasters.
Tomorrow is the semi annual obligatory company party. Usually we have one at Christmas and one at the end of Summer. I've been to worse. But, the idea of having to go to a party when you really don't want to because you feel like you should just kinda rips the heart out of party. At least this one is relatively painless - it's from 12:30-6 on a Saturday very near some excellent and easy shopping. So I'll head out a little early, get in some retail therapy and put in my appearance, make my excuses and be good to go until Christmas. (Last Christmas the party was a bowling party so that wasn't too bad either - it was actually pretty much fun.)
Nine more Mainer games this year. There's pretty nearly no way they will be in any playoffs so this will be it until Spring training. For some reason I'm ok with it this year. Usually, I'm very bummed to see the season end.
And those are my random thoughts for this afternoon.
