I hung the red sheets in place of the muslin curtains in the bedroom closets. They look wonderful!! I sent a photo to my Mom who was shocked to learn that you could actually buy red sheets.

Ok not much shocks my Mom but she's a white sheets all her 80 years kind of gal. She said there is no where in Charleston (SC) where you could buy red sheets. I responded that I'd bet her a Piggly Wiggly sweater that we could find them at her Bed Bath & Beyond. We'll clear that bet at Thanksgiving.

Mom and Dad always had a wager of some kind going on. One of the most famous was over grocery stores in Charleston - this was before they moved there. Mom said that they had found this really good cheese at the fabulous deli section at the Winn Dixie. Daddy said that the fabulous deli section was at the Piggly Wiggly. They were in New York at Barney's and Daddy had seen this obscenely expensive really nice sweater. Mom said, knowing she was right, 'it that deli section is at Piggly Wiggly, I'll buy you that sweater.'

Of course, it turned out the deli section was at Piggly Wiggly and he got the sweater and we forever referred to it as the Piggly Wiggly sweater plus that because our family wager of choice.

The stained glass worked perfectly this morning!! No glare. And it looks so nifty. Happy Happy here today.

I was just reading friends' LJ entries. One of them was talking about whinging and moaning... and I thought - wow... typo. Then about two people later, there's someone else talking about people who whinge. Cleary both meant whining or bitching. BUT it was too weird to have the same typo in both. Then I realized both writers are British and I got suspicious. Fired me up a google and holey moley... whinge is a real word that actually does mean whining! And, according to the audio, it sounds just like it looks like it would.

Intransitive verb: Chiefly British To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.

Wild. I wonder... can you whinge in a whiney voice?

What an interesting word and how interesting that I've never ever heard of it and it turns up twice in one roll of the mouse wheel.
