New car

Well, not really. But it sure looks like it. I drive my car at most maybe once a week on Friday afternoon to do errands. The rest of the time it stays in the basement garage of my condo collecting city dust. It had about a million layers on it. I remembered that it had been red when I bought it.

A block and a half from where I get my nails done there is a grocery store and along side of it there are people washing cars - all the time. They kind of look like a church car wash set up but the washers don't look like church car wash people. I've seen them there bunches of times. Today I decided to do something about it so I rolled up and asked how much and the guy said $10 and I said ok.

I went in and got my groceries and came out and WOW! My car is stunning. Beautiful. Red - bright marichino cherry red. And, according to the flyer, they aren't church people they are a non-profit alcohol rehab place. And they are there every day and they do insides, too (I only had them do the outside). Very handy, very nice.

Tooth Day

So I mentioned to our office manager as I was leaving today that I had a dentist appointment on Tuesday and may be in late. The office manager is a year younger than I am so she's been around some blocks and is a good, solid type. She knows about my dental phobia and asked me. I told her I was getting the broken tooth pulled and she immediately said 'well, good for you!'

Then she went on to tell me about a tooth she had that the dentist screwed with for a long time doing all kinds of painful things to - finally he had to pull it. "It sure is better than having him screw with it. And, it's been 10 years and I haven't missed it yet." And it's the same tooth (second from the last one) as mine! She said said that it should take about 2 seconds to yank it out and it will be no big deal.

I felt instantly less traumatized. I'm gong to try and put off worrying about it until Monday afternoon at the earliest. (yeah right.)
