I re-upped with Netflix in desperation. Then [livejournal.com profile] spiritgirl turned me on to WalMart's DVD rental. They have a 30 day free trial so I figured what the heck. Turns out most of the titles I was interested in were listed as 'very long wait' at WalMart so I think after I watch the three I ordered, I'll just close the account and thank you very much.

Netflix pissed me off because they took 48 hours to send out the first DVD. Not necessary to take that long. We'll see. I have no qualms about canceling their asses again.

But, meanwhile, I have 6 movies on the way. I'll be glad when TV gets over this current rerun-ism.

I've been tweaking my website and I'm not 100% happy with what I've done so far. I need to get it reorganized and then work on the look a bit more. Maybe today. Maybe not. Who knows?

First I think I'll rustle up some breakfast...

I took the pinwheel out to the terrace to put it back up and before I knew it the top had flown off down four floors to the street! This is the first time in the 10 years I've lived here that I've lost something over the side. And I saw that the street cleaner was at work on the street! I made the mad dash down the elevator, across the garage and out the door to the street. Street cleaner off to the right... Pinwheel sitting sadly in a puddle just to the left.

Fortunately it's made to decorate an outdoor setting so a little puddle was not a big problem and the 4 story flight apparently ended in a soft landing.

Pinwheel now safely back on my terrace spinning merrily.

What a lovely morning here. I did actually get my website all organized! Turned out not to be the chore I had expected - thankgod for FrontPage which does a very nice job of cleaning up behind you when you move stuff.

Then I added some photos in the family area for Mom which meant I had to hook up my scanner to the new computer. I so rarely use it, I hadn't even bothered to plug it in much less get the latest drivers. Thank you XP for not causing me any problems there - I didn't even have to reboot. I'm pretty grateful to Bill Gates this morning.

Then I listened to This American Life on NPR. Three hilarious anti-Christmas stories and an interview with David Sedaris about the good news/bad news ramifications of his famous Macy's elf piece. It was a great show. Now I think I'm up for a rest. First it's off to Sherry and Lee's to feed the cats. Then down to get the mail. Then over to the couch. My life is just one thrill after another... but I like it.

I found the announcement about the new S2 style thing for LJ and gave it a spin. It's quite fun and oh so easy. Wow. When they get this thing flushed out, it's going to be a very cool deal.
