What a day.
Feb. 1st, 2003 04:31 pmI was lying in bed this morning waking up listening to NPR when the news came through.
17 years ago I was sitting on the living room floor in my Charlotte, NC condo supervising the movers loading up my stuff to move to Connecticutt the day the Challenger blew up - I watched it on the little Radio Shack 5" black and white battery operated tv that I still have.
But on a happier note, the white stretch limo arrived to get Mom and her party right on time. I got a fast note from my brother reporting that she refused to wait in her apartment until he came around to the closest door. There was no stopping her from going all the way out to the lobby to get in on the action. I also got a note from the party planner to took time out from her Saturday to make a special trip out to ensure it all got going the right way. I think she's going to get a bonus check. $35 is not enough for all she's done. I'm going to wait until I get a full report from my brother on the entire evening, but I think I'm going to send her another $35.
