Snow...

Nope, we have none. Not even close. Well, it is supposed to get down to 30 tonight but there is not a drop of moisture available for snow even if it does. No snow. Yes, I could get into the car and drive about 5 minutes and see snow on the moutain tops. And a 45 minute drive could put me where I could make a snow ball.

But, I want to sit on my couch and see snow falling in my parking lot. Thanks to webcams, however, I can see snow falling today and and snow that just did fall. It's better than nothing.

Jake still has the sneezes. He'll wake up from a nap and sneeze hard five or six times in a row. He's to get the pick crap twice a day until Monday night. He's still eating nicely and fighting the pink crap like a champ. I don't know what to think.

It's Friday and I have all intentions of taking this afternoon off as usual. Oh and my wig is having a good hair day.

This morning's newspapers cover the proposed plans for the future of my neighborhood - Pioneer Square in Seattle.

Those plans call for replacing the parking lot out my terrace with a two story structure. The structure would house parking, staging area for exhibition center and retail space. And... this structure would be topped with a park!!! Trees and playing fields!!! Outside my terrace!!!!! A front lawn with no maintenance by moi.

They are talking 15 years out. And there is already massive opposition. And it's a small part of a bunch of other stuff that likely won't happen either but ... cool to think about.

When I first saw this building and condo, I feel in love with it. I had been in Seattle approximately 5 hours total in my life but I knew it's where I wanted to live. I had a friend, at the time, who lived in Tacoma and was a newspaper reporter. He was horrified that I wanted to live in this neighborhood. He tried disuading me with tales of how dangerous it was. When that wouldn't work, he went to the city planning office and got documents showing that they were going to build low income housing the parking lot outside my terrace (same one mentioned above).

I blew him off and bought the place anyway and have been every so grateful I did. In the 10 years I've lived here, there have already been tons of fabulous improvements to the area and I thought it was pretty darned cool to start with. If they do about half of the stuff they are talking about in this plan, it will be wonderful.

And it will only serve to drive up the value of my condo investment. Which is good because my 2 grand of stocks went down again today - another $34. We are hovering perilously over that profit/loss line for the very first time.
