Retail Crack

I have a serious and cronic condition. There are certain stores that when I get near them, physically separate me from my money. The worst offenders are KMart and Walmart and Target. (I think I pretty much have Costco under control if I'm focused.) I have no control when I get in there. None. I'm a little better with a Target but not much.

Fortunately, there are none of these stores within easy access of me. My Mom lives 2 miles from a Walmart. But, since I never take luggage when I go to visit, I can only buy what I can fit into my purse.

This morning, I realized that while need a few things, the list is not long enough to justify a Walmart run yet.

BUT now I find out that Seattle is getting it's very first Fry's next Tuesday. Now Fry's is the KMart of everything technical, digital and cool. When I lived in California, I lived in Fry's. I'd get there when the doors opened on Saturday morning and walk the grid from the front of the store to the back - in a total retrail drug enduced haze.

The new Fry's is very near Walmart. So if I'm going to go to Walmart, I need to either go before Tuesday or just get a motel room and make a week out of it. Sadly there is an IKEA in the same area. I should refinance my condo before the trip.

Sigh.

Duh

For some reason my contact lens was just giving me fits today so I went home and popped it out and grabbed some dimestore glasses from the shelf and holey moley, Batman. I can see!!! I've been crouched over my terminal all day trying to get the formatting correct on these documents and my spine is screaming. However, it was screaming nonsense when it should have been screaming 'get your fucking glasses on, you idiot!!!'

And while I'm here, can I just say that Microsoft Publisher sucks? I'm not a Microsoft basher. I loved working there. I like their products. I may want to work there again some day. All of the other Office 2003 beta software rocks. But, Publisher... sucks. Publisher XP sucks and Publisher 2003 sucks.
