The gopher du jour

If it's not one thing... it's another. Yesterday one of my hosting companies decided to take a time out. This is the one that houses most all the images for my website and also my J mood icons and some email lists oh and a discussion forum. Nice. Ugh. This company has been down here and there in spots but never for very long and not often. This is unusual and I sure hope it gets fixed fast cause it's annoying.

I need to go over to my post office today. I need to buy stamps for one of the new direct mail campaigns but mainly I need to get pictures. My mail carrier, about whom I have waxed lovingly in the past, goes nuts for holidays but Christmas and Halloween put him over the top. He starts by completely redecorating the post office itself. In the past years it has been good but this year, it is excellent. He's done a wonderful job. And you guys deserve to see it.

Oh and I really do need stamps.

I got stamps

And snapped the post office pictures and posted them on the 2 minute walk back to the office. They look very sharp on my friend's flat panel display. They look pretty fuzzy on my old fashioned monitor... hmmm do I smell and upgrade?????

And my hosting company not only came alive but I got an email explaining that they lost a hard drive, used a backup, lost no data and gave me instructions on how to get compensation for the downtime... (By my calculations, they owe me about $.01 for the 12 hour outage.) Can't ask for much more than that.
