Jes stuff

First of all, a huge thank you to pookfreak! My Spamcop service is once again suffering difficulties and they sent a note this morning suggesting that we 'unhook' for the weekend. Now, in my pre-pookfreak life, this meant calling my ISP to kill the mail transfer and then waiting until Monday to get it back since the only support they provide on weekends is for emergencies.

BUT, oh, no... not this time. Thanks to the perfect step by step instructions that she gave me in July which are safely filed in my LJ Memories, I 'turned off' the forwarding and can turn it back on whenever I want.'

It was 32 degrees out when I left for my walk this morning. But, I very nearly got the clothing exactly correct. I had to take off my jacket on the way home but it's a fleece hoodie so it wasn't a bitch to carry. And I do so love the nip in the air!

This was on the side of an old pickup truck parked at the Krispy Keme construction site.... Only in Seattle...

My post office

I live in the historic part of Seattle. Smack in the middle of the 'hood is a post office that may well be Seattle's original post office. It is chalk full of character as a building but loaded with characters who work there.

My regular mail carrier is honestly just crazy. Tons of fun, a font of info and never never ever without a huge smile on his face. His substitute has been a sub on my route for 10 years and is very very nice.

The people who work behind the counter kind of come and go but mostly they are a great fun loving bunch. I never come out of there without a laugh or a smile. It's just a great place to go get a jolt of fun. Seriously.

Today, one of the counter guys in his baseball shirt was helping my substitute carrier deck out her Global Express Mail toga...

And the newest counter guy was into his dude-ness....

Puzzles??!! Puzzles!!!!!

I do apologize to all my Mac friends. I do wish I had puzzles for you. I really do.

BUT, for you PC people... there is a whole page of new puzzles!!!!! Thanks to androkles and ruralrob and, most especially to hlee who opened up his photo album to me.

These new ones are really wonderful.

I'm working on one right now as I wait for the grocery delivery.

Ok, well, Safeway brought the wrong toothpaste - I checked the 'no substitutes box' but apparently they didn't think I was serious. And they did not bring any cat food or chicken. I am not impressed. Albertson's, here I come back.

My mail goes through SpamCop before it ever gets to me. I get only the stuff on my white list. Normally. This weekend, SpamCop is broken and it's making me nuts! I get annoyed with SpamCop every once in a while because it does not do everything I want it to do and sometimes occasionally, like now, it doesn't work at all, but man-o-manachevitz, I know now it is better than no SpamCop!!!

And... I just heard on the TV that there's a chance... a chance... that we will see SNOWFLAKES on Sunday!!!!!! How happy am I????
