And the beat goes on...
Nov. 25th, 2003 02:00 pmWe just got back from lunch with the women from the trust department who handle all Mom's finances. They are sweet and nice and patient and kind. It's our annual lunch where they make sure we are happy with how they are handling things. We are.
Mom is napping - that would be nap #3 so far today. But it's early yet, she could still get in her usual half dozen. Yesterday she sent me down to get the mail. When I got back I took it in to her and she was sound asleep in her chair. I said "Mom? You want the mail in here or at your desk?" I got nothing.
I went in the other room and read my book. About an hour later Mom comes out and says "Why didn't you bring me my mail?!" When I told her she had been asleep, she swore to me she had not. Ok. Dokey. Whatever.
I am ready to go home. I look at my webcams and catch Betty napping. Sherry and Lee are playing fast and loose with the Teddy bears. One of the cams got knocked around so it's not showing the sofa too well, so I can't see where Jake usually is. I miss them and my nice, quiet house.
Two items of note... For the past couple of months my skin has itched like crazy. I mean the kind of itching that if I scratched enough to satisfy, I'd be clawing away skin. I changed soaps and tried creams and no help. I get here and no itching. (Same soap, by the way...)
And, on LJ many months ago, I learned about Zicam. I'd never even heard of it but someone (
idahjo?) told me to use it at the first sign of a cold. The day I got here I had the first sign of a cold and went and got some and started using it. Now, this could have just been a little nothing burger of a cold to start with but I'm going to credit Zicam. I had 2 days of a mild sore throat and then 2 days of mild head stuffiness and very mild congestion and now I have a very slight cough. If you have to have a cold, get this kind.
