Mom is so crabby today. My brother sent her the URL to Google that shows two Monkeys (she loves all monkeys) swinging from the logo for the Lunar New Yar. She first said she didn't understand what he (my brother) wanted. Then I replied that she needs to click on the link - the words that were underlined. She wrote back that she clicks and clicks and nothing happens. I VNC'd over there and put the webpage so it filled the desktop. Sent her a note. We went on like this for several more swaps and finally she said that it looked like some kind of worm. I gave up. Some days are just crabby days for her.

There's a guy (or several) writing a book about Treo600. I'm writing a couple of paragraphs about setting up and maintaining a photo blog. I'm working for a free copy.

I found the cutest little program for a quick and dirty photo fix - DCEnhance - it's for when dragging out your Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop just isn't worth the effort - all you want is a fax fix. I made a sample page for the forum where it was mentioned. (And here's the download page if you want to read more about it.)

As [livejournal.com profile] rsc says ... I don't do memes -- except when I do.

The dates of the coins in my purse today - p.s. these damn things are nearly impossible to see - I'm thinking next time this sucker rolls around my eyes will be way too old to particpate!

1981 - The Dark Year - I had been married a year. I had known for about 11 months that the marriage was a bad idea. I was about 12 months away from getting over divorce denial.

1984 - I was a free woman and lived in the coolest condominium on the planet. The world was mine. I worked for IBM in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was the beginning of my only 3 years of Sex With No Fear. I had just gotten spayed and I was about two years from understanding the fear of HIV/AIDS.

1988 - I lived in Minnesota and I was up to my smiling face in snow. It was heaven.

1992 - I moved to Seattle in January of 1992. I figured I'd live here a year or two and move on to Chicago. I fell in love with Seattle. Poor Chicago.

Two of my favorite TV series are looking really doomed. 10-8 was funny and poignant and had really interesting and not very cookie cutter characters. I'll miss them all.

I've been a huge fan of Boston Public since year one. It's getting cut off at the knees and that is just not fair.

I'm over the $3,000 line again!!! It's been forever. I was losing faith. For those who might not follow along my every single entry with laser focus...

In 1999 I took $2,000 and opened an Ameritrade account. I bought and sold vast quantities of stock until by about mid 2000 I felt set and stayed with what I have today:

Krispy Kreme - 60 shares (it's split twice)
Federated Stores - 9
Tivo - 34
I also have 16 shares of WebVan which Ameritrade tells me every single day are still worth $0.00

This pot o' gold has gone as high as about $3,800, but lately has languished around $2,800.... until today...

TADA!!! $3,033.05! The tide is turning...
