Jan. 31st, 2004 10:09 amI just got an email from my brother that Mom is on her second margarita at Juanitas.
Bill just got himself a Treo and he's at Mom's to help her celebrate her 81st birthday which is today. Apparently, they decided to get an early start. Maybe when you are 81 it just doesn't look like such a good bet to delay anything. Juanitas is one of the dive-iest Mexican places I have ever seen. The food is very so - so and the margaritas look disgusting. But, it's only about 2 blocks from home and for whatever reason, Mom just loves the place.

There's an exhibition center next to the stadium that is divided up into different spaces. In the big spaces today is a dog show. In one of the smaller spaces is a wholesale style show. So the neighborhood is full of the oddest mix of fairly nicely dressed people with dogs on leash and rolling carts overloaded with dog accoutrements and fashion mavens in Ughs. It's pretty funny.
I finished the greatest political thriller. Brad Meltzer's The Zero Game. All of his stuff is good - really good, but this one is probably the best.
