My other bits
Nov. 2nd, 2004 01:11 pmYes, I voted. Thank you now get off my back, please??!!! In Washington state you can sign up to get absentee ballots by default. My precinct used to be in this very cool Chinese nursing home and then they moved it to a place I never did find so I signed up for absentee ballots. That was about 10 years ago. I voted last week. I'm done, thank you.
It does look, however, to me from just the stock market alone that the Republicans have got it all the way. I am not pleased at all. I will not make enough on the rebounding stocks to get any joy out of that and I sure don't want to have four more years. Maybe my answer is to marry a Canadian.
But, wait! As I was typing that, it just dawned on me that I learned yesterday her phone has now been transferred to Bell South... The 'home' was on its own phone system for years. The system sucked in many ways - not the least of which was that DSL was not even a remote possibility.
They have been working replacing the POS phone system with Bell South now for about six months and, I learned yesterday, the transfer is complete. So today, just in the middle of this entry, I hopped over to Bell South and plugged in Mom's number where it says DSL eligibility and BINGO!!! It says she's good to go!
This could solve all the problems.... I have a note into my bro. I'm pretty sure he has Bell South DSL. I want to find out the pot holes before I pick up the phone and give 'em a call. Whohoo!
