Today Mom was fine but sounded a little sad. She's so looking forward to my visit - she has such a long list of stuff for me to day - that I think she's a little bummed about it's still being two weeks off. I'm sorry she is sad but I know that she would not want me living near her and lordknows and we all realize that 3,000 miles is a comfortable distance for me!
In last week's elections, South Carolina, where Mom lives, they overthrew the requirement to serve booze in mini bottles... Way back when - late 70's I think - when South Carolina finally passed a liquor by the drink law, they added that that liquor must come from mini bottles only. So, step into a bar in South Carolina and you will feel like you should get a little package of peanuts and you look for your tray table. But, no more.
I asked Mom if Jon, her bartender friend there at the 'home's' pub, even knew how to pour a real drink. He's only about 23 and never been a bartender outside of South Carolina. Turns out they will be able to keep their mini bottles at the pub since it's not open to the public. (The old people like the mini bottles because they know they aren't getting cheated out of a drop.)
I had a nice walk today - down through an industrial area... Yesterday I found the waterfront - even early - was strangely full of people - everywhere... But the industrial area today was just me.
There are a few little things that need to be done today - I need to update my knitting page on the website and some other web pages and it's Dye My Hair day. This time I am not looking to get the gray out, but rather get the reddish ends gone. Plus coloring gives my hair a little more texture so it's not so limp.
Just a regular, nice Sunday...
