Seattle-itis and other miscellaneous bits
May. 10th, 2005 11:40 amIt seems that lately, when I click on an LJ name that I've never seen before - usually in a comment to one of my friends' entries - 9 out of 10 are from Seattle! It happened 3 times yesterday. Kinda freaky really.

I get these little red skin things on my arms when I scrap them too hard against something or bang them. It looks like there's a bleed under the first layer of skin. Sometimes the blotches are big and sometimes they are small. I remember my Mom used to get them. They scream 'this bitch is OLD!' and are pretty ugly. I rarely ware long sleeves so there they are - out there for all to see. And these days I have a nice crop. It seems like I get one for every box I move, everything I put away, every time I move anything. Plus, I have a nice set of bruises in various places on my arms from the same activities. I'm trying to view them all as notches on my redesign belt.

My taste/smell problems are very intermittent. Mostly lately, I can taste everything. Bread is still an issue. It just tastes funny so I just avoid it. Pizza crust is ok. Tortillas are ok. Crackers are ok. But sandwiches are an issue. It's very strange. For lunch today I am having 3 pork eggrolls and 1 vanilla yogurt with my Diet Dr. Pepper, of course.

If my contract is extended past June, I plan to go see Mom as soon as work can let me off for a week. If they do not extend my contract, I'll go see her in July. I'd like to make one trip before the obligatory Thanksgiving trip. She's kind of bored and is always so happy to see me. I hate going in the heat, but really the window of no heat is so tiny that it's impossible to make two decently spaced trips. So I'll suffer. But, you'll be happy to hear, not in silence. I should know about the contract thing next week or the following. Maybe.
