Ooops. The people setting up the cones to organize the parking in the stadium parking lot just got a surprise... The first of a week of high school graduations is schedule for there this afternoon. These are massive affairs and kind of fun to watch and very colorful. The parking lot people were making great progress until just a few minutes ago when the bottom fell out. They are now every soggy. The stadium has no roof. I'm sure it will dry up before this afternoon but if not... ugh.

This reminds me. I need to make a grocery run. I think I'd better do it this morning and get back before the Moms/Dads/Grads hit the 'hood.

Mom is getting more clear every day. Today she asked about selling her car (which we did last week) and where the money was and what she was going to do with it (give it to my brother and sister - she gave me $5,000 a month ago. She wanted to 'buy' my new carpet which I thought was so sweet.).

I got a note from Polly that Mom was having bouts of cranky brought on by frustration with her situation. Mom, apparently, snapped at one of her sitters the other day and Theresa had to counsel the sitter not to take it personally. She really likes the one that's on duty this weekend. When Mom and I finished chatting this morning, she made me say hi to the sitter.

Turns out I made amazing progress with the unpacking and the desk/office set up last night. I've still got lots to do but now I have a plan - pens/pencils go here, notebooks go here, etc. I think by Sunday night, this house will be very close to under control. That's what I'm shooting for.

I have made great progress. The desk area is very nearly in as top shape as I can get it until I get the new whole drilled to move the monitor to where it is supposed to be. There's a little clean up left but it's looking and functioning great and I think I can even find stuff.

Oh and I hauled all the boxes from the desk setup down to the dumpster which was quite an undertaking BUT when I was checking them for spare parts, I found a spare hole flange!!!

This desk has 3 holes in it now, with nice plastic hole covers/flanges. Unfortunately, there is not one where I most need it. I was pretty sure we were going to have to drill a new hole and then rig up some kind of something that would make it look right. Now, there's no rigging needed. Amazing.

Two keyboards are getting washed in the dishwasher as I type. I'm going to be seriously pleased if they get clean AND work.

There's a graduation going on right now. And it's not raining. But, it looks like that could change soon... Hope they are at least half way through the alphabet.

I think I'm going to take a serious break and go watch some tv with my feet up for a bit. I'm pooped.

Whew.

The desk is clear - all is put away! It's heaven. I'm so proud. And it looks so nice.

I updated the makeover site to include desk shot, coffee mug shelf shot and fireplace shot.

Things are really taking shape. And I may well be able to take tomorrow off!

Now, it's dinner time. I had to run out to Office Depot to get a longer printer cable and Seattle's Best Teriyaki (which really is THE best teriyaki) is right there and I have a yummy teriyaki chicken bowl for dinner. That's what I'm doing right now.
