I took a little walk this morning with my camera.  Just down the waterfront to the aquarium and back.  It rained and didn't rain and rained heavily and stopped.  But it was still a nice walk.

Came home to an email from the boss with a minor chore which I did. Futzed a bit.  Had a shower and washed my hair.  And here I are.

I have a stack of papers to file - not a big stack.  And a stack of stuff to put away - not a big stack.  But both are big enough to avoid doing.  At least until this entry is finished.

Jake is back in front of the monitor.  Betty is back nestled in her favorite spot - on the window seat bed snuggled up against Alf and my old teddy bear, James.  I'm dying to get a picture of her with them (the trio is very color coordinated) but the minute I get back there with the camera she hops up to play.  I need to work on my stealth techniques.

I think I found an ergonomist that will come to my house and fix my furniture and me.

My sister keeps sending stuff to Mom in email that she can't possibly deal with - giant photographs (that are not at all good enough to really tell what they are pictures of) and documents that Mom does not know how to open.   Mom feels like she should be grateful to get any email from my sister at all.  And my sister is of the I-don't-know-nuthi'-bout-birthin'-no-babies school of computing and believes her obligations to her mother are fulfilled when she hits send.

I don't have many regrets in my life but one I do have is that none of all the energy I have expended over the years in evil and mean thoughts and wishes for my sister has ever resulted in causing her the tiniest amount of even inconvenience.  I'm sure she'll get hers one day but how fucking long to I have to wait???

Ok, I have filed every bit of paper. Put away everything in the stack of stuff that needed to be put away.  Done the laundry and put it away.  Cleaned the kitchen.  In fact the whole house is pretty clean at this point.

I keep waiting for work to kick in but the main bits they hired me for require the network credentials that I don't have yet and probably won't get until after Thanksgiving so I think I'd better resign myself to a few days with nothing to do.  I could go out and do something - like go to the Bellevue Art Museum which I've been dying to see since they reopened but I keep thinking that if I hang out around the computer work will come in plus, I'm not sure I want my new boss to think I'm not always ready for stuff.

I was going to make a quick trip to the library but [livejournal.com profile] pheon saved my ass there by reminding me it was holiday closed.

It's ok, really.  That museum will be there for a while yet.  I'm grateful to be here and am soooo glad that it's such a pretty 'here' now.

I've got a good book to read and loaded TiVo's.  And a clean house!
