Deja Vu Vu
Feb. 24th, 2006 02:30 pmChallenging Guy is being Challenging. I mean really really challenging. I am so billing his ass for the time of mine that he is wasting today. My UPS package du jour is still showing Out for Delivery but no sign of Mr. UPS.
Yesterday Dave the UPS Guy was replaced by a really really young new guy who was so cute. We have a cupboard down in the garage that is locked with a combo lock. All the package delivery people have keys to get to it and the combo to unlock. UPS and USPS are really very good about it. Fed Ex and DHL are getting better. Airborne not so much.
But yesterday's UPS guy brought my box right up here to my door. And asked me to sign for Valerie's (down the hall) which I did gladly. Maybe he'll come back today - it was about this time...
I got an email from Mom a bit ago - about this and that. She did not get rid of her sitters but did get a replacement for one she had really grown unfond of so she's cool. One of the people at her dining table is Paul who is just the sweetest man on the face of the entire earth. He is turning 91 tomorrow. On her birthday, I made her a simple web page with big letters and a colorful happy birthday graphic. She wanted one for him so I made him one. Then she couldn't email the link. I got on to her computer and, sure enough, for some reason it was getting rejected.
So I sent her a note and told her I'd get ahold of BellSouth (where they both have accounts) and find out what the deal was. I got a very fast answer back saying, 'never mind... I printed it out and it looks great and I'll get the sitter to run it up to his room and that will be better anyway'.
I would have never thought of that!
Tonight is a Mexican spread at Kieran and Alan's. They have out of town company and are throwing a party for their guests. I'm ready. I need to stop on the way and grab some beer but otherwise, I'm good to go.
