Jun. 14th, 2006 11:27 amWe don't often get birds (other than the occasional seagull) outside my terrace but the past couple of days has brought a choir of some kind of singing something with wings. Yesterday it was nearly annoying at times. This morning it is hilarious because it is driving both Betty and Jake nuts. They cannot figure out what that noise is and why they can't find it. They are on alert and ready to pounce... now, where is that pesky whatever it is??!!
Nothing much new here. Working away on a variety of rush things. So far it's pretty containable. A lot of it is waiting. Waiting for a glitch in the system to get fixed. Waiting for answers to questions - what graphic do you want me to use? Your directions appear to have two opposite instructions - which one do you want me to go with? Please review and let me know when you want me to push it live. Etc. Etc. Etc.
There are enough waits that at least right now, it does not seem too frenetic. I don't feel like I could leave for a couple of hours but that's ok. There's always July and where am I going anyway?
I'm still futzing with my Harmony remote but I am loving the new DVD player. My old one - a Go Video VCR/DVD combo - was the only DVD player I ever had. I missed the TiVo functionality - varying levels of fast forward and 'remember where I was in my watching and put me back there later' and the new DVD has all of that. It's nice.
But, what's not so nice is Yahoo's stock site. It keeps requiring me to sign in and that's pissing me off. I know it did not used to do that because I used it to set up for Mom and she checked it constantly and the only time she had to sign in was when someone had used her computer to access another Yahoo account. I know this because she had no idea how to sign in. So when she got the sign in request, she sent me a note, I VPN'd and did it for her. This happened rarely.
These days, however, I have to sign in every day to find out how much money I've lost in the stock market. Adding insult to injury??!! Yes.
I think I'll stroll on over to the deli and pick up an early lunch in case the afternoon explodes.
