The high blood pressure/erectile dysfunction combo along with the morning sun which is baking my living room are all making me crabby. I need to focus on non-crabby-making things.

I did go across the hall to my neighbor's to water plants and do litter box. Her unit faces west so it is cool and nice over there this morning. Her cat is wonderful. She's got long hair and shape like Betty but Jake's coloring and she's very very affectionate. Just a sweetie. I should take my camera over.

I have a small mailing list of book people. When I add a new book to my website database, I send them an email letting them know. Several of them send me book tips. There's one guy from Canada who's recommendations are generally spot on. A couple of weeks ago he sent me a note telling me to track down and read a book called The Rabbit Factory by a guy named Marshall Karp (http://www.lomaxandbiggs.com/). My friend said 'don't be put off by its size'. ? I ordered it up from the library and went to get it on Friday. Whoa. This is one hefty mf. It's a lot of pages on thick paper. I wasn't sure I could hold it up to read.

But, I gave it a start last night before I went to sleep. I only got through the first 45 pages but I already know that it's not big enough. It is delightful and when I get to the end I'm going to wish it was twice as long. Especially since I checked this morning and the next one is still vaporware. I'm going to have to make this one do and I think it will.

I did hear from my brother yesterday. His business is having a great month so far and he's expanding. He's got a triangle of small-ish towns north of Austin (Texas) and is really attracting some good business. I'm so glad for him. He turns 53 next week. I need to at least get him a card. We have not even acknowledged birthdays or Christmases in years but I think I'll break with that tradition.

Whao! Roomba is working the back end of the condo and I just realized that I couldn't hear it any more. I got up to chase it down and discovered that:

1. I'd left the door out to the hall open.
2. I'd forgotten to turn on the 'invisible wall' that keeps Roomba from going where it shouldn't.
3. The little bump at the doorway is a nothingburger to Roomba

The Roomba was happily making its way down the hallway and was already way down near the end (10 units down). I don't know if anyone saw it or not. There's a cute little chihuahua that lives at the end of the hall ... he loves excitement. I hate that he missed it.

No big plans here for today. Baseball, teddy bear knitting, and book reading. Oh and keeping cool.
