Lazy day

I got nothing to report. So far it's a nice lazy Saturday morning. The laundry is laundry-ing and I'm putzing and listing to This American Life on the radio. It's way too hot to go outside not that I probably would anyway.

I've got plenty to entertain me here. I've got Netflix and teddys to knit. I've got about 2 hours left of my Thomas Perry book. I hate for it to end but I'm dying to know what happens.

Lee and Sherry are gone for the weekend so when I finish this entry, I'll go down to their unit on the 3rd floor to feed their cats, stop on the 2nd floor to leave a bag of the latest teddy bears, go on to the first floor to get the mail and take a bag of trash.

The baseball game is at 4 today.

I wasn't kidding, it's a lazy Saturday.

Next week I have two meetings in Redmond and an all day meeting downtown. I do not want to haul my laptop all over everywhere just so I can get email and look up shit. So... I dug out the old Fujitsu tiny notebook. It's got nearly no memory and is slow as Christmas but it's under 2 pounds and tiny.

I hadn't opened it in months. It needed a bazillion updates which it got and then I found a couple of things to speed it up. The onboard wireless is a dog and then I remembered I had a little USB wireless adapter that I got free with something so I plugged that in and BAM! The machine is still slow but the wireless speed went from 11Mbps to 54Mbps! That helps.

I can also use the Treo as a modem if I can't find a network. So it's a nice little purse email/browser machine.

It's defragging now. It's been forever since I have defragged a machine.

The Mariners won.

Nice day and now I think I'll do some knitting and tv watching... for a change...

This is the Lifebook next to my desktop computer at my old desk at Microsoft.
