I discovered last night that the TiVo I set up to record 3 Pounds, didn't.  My fault.  I keep hearing that it isn't any good but I wanted to see for myself.  Guess I'll see next week.  phewey.

--

I'm meeting my friend, Patty, for lunch today.  We're meeting at the Pike Place Brewery where I have never ever been before and I'm not sure why not.  There are about a million places to eat lunch in and around the Pike Place Market (Patty works just on the other side of it from here) and yet we can't find a good spot.  All we want is a nice place to sit and chat (not outside) with decent, simple food - not vegan, not whacko, not Cajun.  We're tried and rejected a couple of places - last time was Emmit's - a place that's been here forever and would be the perfect choice except the food sucked.

--

The cleaning woman never called me back yesterday.  Bummer.  Oh well. That was too easy anyway.  Now I'll have to launch a search.

--

I've lost two things in this house - a little thing of really good hand cream that I love and a foot blanket.  I found the foot blanket last night now I just need to track down that hand cream.  I know I put it somewhere obvious where it would be easy to find and safe from getting lost.  I just don't know where that place is...

--

Safeway is coming at 4 today with heavy groceries.  Yeah.

--

The Front Door TV today is revealing that someone on the 5th floor is getting some major painting done.  The 5th floor units have a loft bedroom and the living room goes up probably 20-25 feet.  The painter guys are bringing in scafolding so that's why I'm thinking 5th floor.  Wonder who it is?   Those 5th floor people are most snots anyway.

Clearly I am just screwing around here.  Time to build the web pages...

So there is some in the south - Georgia, I think - who has a gmail address that might be a little like mine.  She also has a boat load of very clueless friends.

She is in some sort of Christian Chamber Commerce and big on baby showers.  Just now she's being asked for her opinion on a TV hutch from Wal-mart.  And she LOVES group emails...

I know this because somewhere along the way one of her many clueless friends (and maybe even more than one) added my email address to their list of 'send every single thought and stupid email you get right along to this group of people and include a Bible verse'.

Initially, when it first started, I sent a 'reply all' saying that the email went to the wrong person and they might all want to check their address books to ensure that their friend gets their emails and not me.  I did this for the first 10 or so that I got.  That was the first 2 days.

Then I hit 'reply all' and said that 'after today, I was going to set my computer to throw all of these emails right to the trash so they should understand that neither their friend, nor me was going to see their emails.'

Then I got a couple in a row that encouraged me to come to the next Chamber meeting because they were going to discuss what to do about the gays. (I responded to that one pointing out that their devotional Bible quotes suggested to me that they embrace 'the gays and find new best friends' - I'm sure that went right over their teensy little heads.  Then the next day I got a list of things to get Debbie for her baby shower.

Then, I didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks and today I get the note about the TV hutch.  This one was only sent to me and two others.  The hutch is way ugly, by the way.

I've given up.  Good thing I'm me and not some vindictive coder who might craft up a little nasty virus and send it to all of them.  I want to, I just don't have the skills....

In other news...

[livejournal.com profile] cinenaut put me onto April Lane's Cleaning which sounds EXACTLY like the kind of place I need.   I called the minute I got home from lunch with Patty and Chad was very nice but apologetic. He was just going into a meeting, could he call me back? Sure.

Except he didn't.  It's now nearly 4.  Their office closes at 4:30.  Seems like if the meeting was going to take all afternoon, he might have mentioned it would be Monday.  Buggers.  This kitchen ain't gettin' any cleaner.

I did watch 3 lbs online - not a perfect experience but beats the hell out of guessing what happened.  I'll watch it again.  They smooth out some of the wrinkles and I could get hooked fairly easily.

All my heavy groceries arrived.  The delivery guy felt like he drew the short straw but he was nice about it.

I don't have a lot of work work to do this weekend.  I'm not disappointed - I can handle a weekend off.  I am hoping it's not a trend.  I'm worried a little about having enough to stay busy through the holidays.  Last year I had a nice chunk when  couple of customers realized they had promised stuff by end of year.  Here's hoping that happens again.

Tomorrow I have a quick errand.  I need to go to a shop over by the Space Needle.  Workday traffic makes it a pain in the ass to get there and back Monday-Friday. I'm hoping I can get there when the doors open tomorrow and get home before everyone else gets up.

Then I'm meeting my friend, Susan for lunch.  Nice day.
