Truant!!!

This is the first day since March 16 that I have - for no good reason - not gone to the gym.  Yep.  It's a kind of a test and the eve of a new start and, let's face it... I'm a slacker whenever I can get away with it.

I've heard the 'take a day off' honk so many times now, I figured I'd give it a shot.  Plus there's the doctor's appointment and I have a couple of work things that I should get done before I go and like any good slacker, I have and endless lists of reasons. 

Tomorrow starts a new day and I think a new counting scheme.  But, of course, the daily reports will continue.

I'm now showered and dressed and have my blood pressure readings spreadsheet and I'm ready to go.

I'm now showered and dressed and have my blood pressure readings spreadsheet and I'm ready to go.

The doctor is so cute.  And so nice and so straightforward and so not full of nonsense.  He suggested that before we go back to the expensive blood pressure drug we try a beta blocker.  I have have no idea what a beta blocker is or what it does or how it does it and I don't really care as long as it keeps my blood pressure down low enough so that Man doctor doesn't get all stressed.  The term beta blocker, however, always conjures up an image of a beautiful fish meeting a really large mean guy with a gun.

So new pills and I'm done.  Oh and he wants to see me in 2 weeks and give me a physical which is just means I get naked and he pokes around in places while telling me to relax.  It takes 30 minutes.  Oh and he gets blood which means I can't eat before I go.  The earliest in the day they had an opening in two weeks was 1:45.  I don't think so.  So we settled on Oct. 3rd.  I have enough of the new fish killers to last until then.

Then home to work and then off to lunch.

Seeing Matt and Kenny was great.  Susan didn't make it so it was just the three of us catching up.  They are the greatest guys.  Matt's probably in his late 30's - young enough to be my son and Kenny is young enough to be my grandson and yet they are just buddies.  We talked about everyone we knew and got all caught up and I learned the company is now about 5 times larger in terms of employees than it was when I was there and it has a new name.  Matt's baby boy is now 11 and Kenny's girlfriend changed her job so she could move from Shanghai to the Northwest and now, not only has she not moved, she is traveling all over the world.  The wedding is still scheduled for someday.

The great burger place was not serving burgers today.  sob.  Their fans were broken so no hot food.  We went a couple of doors down to a place that had burgers but they were not great.  Didn't matter.  Company was good.

Boss just called with a little gig for me that I think I'll get started on right now.  I told him I'd do it over the weekend but, there happens to be room on my plate right this minute.  Might as well use it!

It is a freakin' toilet miracle!!!!!

For some time now I have had a faint brown stain around the water line in both my toilets. It's getting less faint all the time. I've tried everything. I've scrubbed with cleanser. I've tried miracle cleaners off the shelf. I've tried pumice. I even tried a special pumice claimed to be made just for toilets. I've cursed and I've sworn and nothing helped.

Honestly, with just me and Betty here, I don't worry so much. I just don't look and she knows that if she bitches about it, she will then own the problem.

But, in two weeks I have men coming over. Men who turn on the light and stand up and look down into the toilet. Men who will see my ring around the bowl. So I googled.

I ponied up $11.54 and sent off to wherever for Shaw's Pad on a stick. http://shawspads.com/. ; That was on Tuesday.  It arrived just now and I pulled it out of the bag and went to the toilet.  Unfuckingbelievable.  I was so glad I have two toilets because the first one had every single bit of the stain gone so fast I forgot to take a picture!


The down side is that now the bottom of the seat looks like shabby.  Guess it's time for new lids.
