I checked FedEx the minute I woke up and it said that my TV was in Seattle but not yet out for delivery. It also said it would be delivered by noon but I didn't really believe that since it wasn't on the truck yet. So I piddled around and made myself some breakfast and was nearly done eating it when the Fed Ex guy buzzed me from the front door!!!!

First of all... 40" is the right size for me. I was able to easily get it out of the box, install the stand, get it up on my cabinet. I like a TV that I can handle by myself. Lesson learned.

The setup for the TV was way way easier and more straightforward than Vizio's. I love the way Samsung handles the input selection and picture in picture is perfect for me. All I want is the Front Door TV Network in a little frame while I do other stuff and I got that.

The picture is really way better than my old Toshiba which I did not really expect. And it's a little bigger. And the sound is also better which is a pleasant surprise although I'm not that picky about sound, I'm glad to have better.

So everything is set up and working fine. Easily and pleasantly. Except the internet. It found the network with no problem. And I can see what it will be like which is fun - I can have all the internet apps and still get the Front Door TV Network (or my TV show) in box on that same screen!

But, getting anything to work is a fucking nightmare. The Samsung website, apparently, hates all browsers. I've now tried 3. I finally got a userid and password but, apparently, the TV needs an additional one. Which I set up and now won't work. Every single thing I try gives me some message about needing to log on somewhere but lacks sufficient details to make it happen. The latest trick is that it says mail email address and password that their website requires and uses is not valid. IT A MASSIVE GIANT WTF.

I need to find a forum with helpers. This is making me a little crazy and I don't even care that much about these stupid apps!

But, the TV is great. And perfect for me. Yeah!! I have a Netflix movie and I think I'll just watch it!

I forgot to mention the remote. It is world's better than the Vizio. The Vizio had a slide out keyboard which was wonderful BUT otherwise it sucked giant eggs. The Samsung remote has much more responsive buttons, buttons that make sense, and a light-me-up button.

Most people, I know, are in love with their Harmony's but I am not. I love my TiVo remote. I love it so much that I'm willing to suffer multiple remotes to use it. 1 TiVo remote for the 2 TiVo's. 1 DVD remote for the seldom used DVD player and now the Samsung remote. I'm ok with that.

Plus, forget the Samsung @internet crap... I just found Yahoo Widgets... which is a button on my remote and they are WAY easier to set up and have more than I need - news, weather, stocks, TWIT-TV and Twitter! Yes, I can watch my Twitter feed with The Front Door TV Network at the same time. My life is so good.

Now I am gong to clean up the mess. Take the box down to storage. Clean up the breakfast dishes and then, only then, will I watch my movie.

This is the second in the series which Amy (in my brother's shop) calls Acid Trip and I think it's more Easter sweater... on pink this time.

Yeah, two remotes aren't going to cut it. It's back to the Harmony. Fuck. I hate programming that thing. We don't speak the same language.

---

Nadia appears to have kicked my ass good yesterday. My arms, chest and ribcage are screaming.

---

The boys upstairs - the unit just above mine - are having an open house today for their unit which is on the market. Ann and Ron picked me up on their way up to ooogle. It's staged very nicely and they have some beautiful artwork. I'd be both surprised and delighted if they get anywhere near their asking price. Their realtor is a good one, though and he seems to know his stuff (he also lives in the building).

---

I did not go to the gym today or even outside to walk anywhere. I feel guilty but not enough to do anything about it. Tomorrow I'm meeting [livejournal.com profile] machupicchu for brunch and a movie on the other end of town so I can walk home from there and count it. Heck, I might get ambitious and walk *to* there (the restaurant and the movie are across the street from each other about a mile from here.

---

Ok, I guess I'll start the Harmony battle now. Ugh.

The new TV has such a beautiful picture. Really stunning. The PIP function is great but a massive PIA to deal with. There is no PIP button on the remote. Depending on your route there are either 8 steps or 11 steps to turn it on. But, I love it anyway.

It does a lovely job of managing the channels - digital and analog that come in off the cable directly from the wall. I now have twice as many to pick from which is handy.

And the Harmony is nearly done. Talk about a PIA. God I hate that thing but it does work and once you get it set up, it's less painful - until you want to add something or make a change. But. Whatever.

I watched Fairly Legal - a new USA Network show that I totally expected to stink up the room and it did not. It's no Emmy winner but I sure have seen worse. I'm looking forward to next week's episode.

Tomorrow's brunch will be a pre-movie nosh with [livejournal.com profile] machupicchu at the Cheesecake Factory. Hoping we get seated at Penny's station. Then the movie and then on to the pie shop. Big day.

But, Travis says it's bedtime first.
