Since today is my gym day off, I figured it would not hurt to stretch my legs a little so I walked over to the place with good sushi to pick up some lunch. Legs stretched and I'm down to my last two California rolls. Yum.

----

Something's going on with my next door neighbor. The one who moved to Arizona and so is never hear. Building Manager, Scott was going in there with some people. hmmm I need to snag him and find out the skippy. I really hope he's not selling or renting it. I like living next door to nobody.

Oh and my across the hall neighbor? Several years ago she asked me to feed her cat while she was gone once and I was more than a little shocked when I went in. I had not been in there for about a decade and since then she had divorced her husband and moved in about 1- times the amount of stuff a very stuffed condo could hold. It wasn't trash or the usual kind of hoarding stuff - it was just like if you took the stuff in your house, and my house and your brother's house and stuffed it into a 1,300 square foot condo.

Anyway, last year she and her ex husband decided to remarry and she moved out to live with him in the burbs. She's been hauling stuff out and doing work on the place for six months and this morning I found pictures when it went on sale. Holy HGTV, she's done a fabulous job. Just amazing and really nice. Her appliances are original (19 years old and look it) but the rest is fresh and new and really nice.

Her's is one of the largest in the building and she has two terraces.

----

Ok, time for me to get back to work.

This bear is so pink that it might hurt your eyes but the neon green sweater will tone down the pink...

I mentioned in an entry last week my frustration with TV news reporting. Specifically with news reporters and anchors who not only tell me their opinions but tell me what mine should be, too. And, spend so much time and effort doing this that they have precious little time to deliver me the news.

[livejournal.com profile] gailbird mentioned her appreciation for BBC new reporting which got me thinking and looking. I discovered that my local public radio station has a nice 2 hour block of national and business news that is not only interesting but also nearly commercial free. I have TiVo set for 2 hours of local news and then this public TV news. I've taken to watching the public TV news pretty much real time and then scanning through the local coverage for the 10-15 minutes of real news that's hidden in the 2 hours.

It's working out quite nicely. And I'm getting a far richer news experience. I am finding, however, that I have to pay closer attention. My ear, particularly, is trained to focus only when the voices sound urgent. Public TV news does not do urgent. It's refreshing and I'm learning how to take it in.

There's a lot of interesting stuff going on in the world that commercial news stations just don't have the time and energy to report what with all the wailing and scaring and sanctimonious carrying on they do.

I just looked to my right and saw this. It just cracked me up. That's the ottoman that holds the stuffing I use in the bear. And, now, apparently, Betty. Maybe she wants to be used in a bear.
