Break time
Jun. 7th, 2011 12:30 pmI really don't have much of to put into an entry but I have to take my eyes off the bugs in my work queue for at least a minute. I got started earlier than usual this morning because Chef Anita was coming to cook and I knew there were be interruptions later in the day. As usual, she works on her own with no help needed from me so I have been going nearly 7 hours straight. At least I will have a nice stretch of me time this afternoon.

My brother's granddaughter - Kennedy - age 4? - stopped by his shop this morning. Her dad brings her in every once in a while and everyone in the shop is great about getting her in front of the web cam. I can hear her and see her and she is really cute. And I can wave at her and pick up Travis and make him wave and hear her giggle in response.
I was thinking this morning that my Mom died 6 years too soon. She would have adored watching her great grandaughter on the webcam. Hell, she like watching me on the webcam and it was a very crappy cam and I am not even close to cute. I could not tell when she was watching so I didn't even make funny faces at her.

My Dad died in 1999. He never got into computers at all. He watched Mom play on hers but kind of poo poo'd them in general. However, he thought his fax machine was the greatest invention of all times. He LOVED that sucker. And, until the day he died, he never got over the thrill of seeing his name come up on the ATM machine. Mom said that particularly when they were out of the country, he could hardly pass one without sticking his card in just so it could say hi to him by name.

it's a gray day here and not quite as hot as the past couple of days. I love the gray. It's light enough and bright enough to see well but without the glare and potential scorch of sun. Last Fall I had a quilt made out of some fabric I love. By the time it was done, it was too cold to enjoy. It is the perfect size and perfect weight for this time of year and I love it. I do miss Etsy's Alchemy service.

Ok break time is over time to get back to work.

Leg update
Jun. 7th, 2011 10:04 pmThere is only a dime sized scab left on one knee. One leg is totally completely healed and feels right as rain. The other leg is still healing but is way way way better. I no longer have to get up or sit down with care. I feel far more stable walking. Tomorrow it's back to the treadmill again. I think it has rested quite enough.
---
The freezer is chock full of delicious meals. Tonight I had a steak sandwich - with onions, peppers, mushrooms and melted cheese with an inspired and delicious potato salad. Yeah Chef Anita! I hope she knows how much I love what she does for me.
