No, not sick, but poor. The check I wrote to buy the car hit the bank this morning and my account summary is now $17,500+ smaller than it was yesterday. Expected, of course, but still startling. So now head surgery is paid for. Car is paid for. Good. Time to build those reserves back up again. Hopefully, my paycheck won't stop in mid-September when this project ends. I have not heard of another one to take its place but it's not yet time to start worrying.
I have gotten a ton of work done today. Well, between this weekend and today. I'm caught up with all the big ticket items and now am working on the 'nice to' stuff.
I'm ready for the fall season of TV to get started. With September starting this week, I think it's sooner than it actually is. I have to keep reminding myself that the new shows won't start for nearly another month. I can tell now that the World Series will hold zero interest for me, so I'm counting on other distractions.
Last night I discovered 9 emails in my gmail draft folder. They were all emails that I
thought I had sent. I have no clue why they didn't go anywhere. Happily none were critical but still.
However, that's not the worst email disaster...
I also discovered that I cleverly filtered all email sent to susandennis@livejournal.com into a sub folder that I never see. And there were 2 emails there from
cinenaut from June! And one of them asking me if I wanted to meet him for lunch - which I would have loved to have done.
I've had people not respond to emails I have set to their livejournal email address before and, honestly, I thought it was all sorts of lame and conceit when - eons later - I got a reply saying they didn't see the email.
Now I am wearing the ugly dunce hat. I'm very embarrassed.
The filter has been fixed. I sent him an email begging for a new lunch date but I wouldn't blame him if he blew me off forever. ARUGH.
Back to work for me now. I've hit a tedious bug that I want to squash before the end of my day so I don't have to face it tomorrow.
