It was a wonderful day. Just wonderful.

I told the GPS lady to avoid highways and set out about 8ish. I got breakfast on the way out of town and thoroughly enjoyed the drive. [livejournal.com profile] dietcokewithice had given me some excellent advice about which parking lot to use which was great because I would have floundered for sure.

The Evergreen State Fair is a good bit smaller than the one in Olympia so it is way easier to manage and I really felt like I got to see all of it without killing myself. I could have used more quilts and crafts and more produce art but the trade off for being able to see it all and enjoy it all was very worth it.

Probably the most amazing thing I saw was this piece of artwork done by a 10 year old. I would have loved to have bought it.

Fair

I cannot believe I did not get her name in the photo. I can't imagine what she'll come up with in her lifetime.

Then the sun came out and I was done. Sadly I wasn't hungry enough for much junk food but I did get a corn dog which was delicious.

Per [livejournal.com profile] dietcokewithice's suggestion, I stopped by the Ben Franklin store which was huge and gorgeous and then told my GPS lady to go to Duvall which was an adorable town so then I went on to Bothell, again so cute. And from there onto Kenmore and one more I forget now.

It was very enjoyable, driving through the country side. I cannot imagine living out there but it was fun to drive through. I stopped a couple of places and then headed on home. Of course, when I hit the city limits I was on the other side of town from my house and traffic was crawling. But, no biggie.

I did see two more Smart cars when I got to town. A nice blue one - kind of a dark powder blue - and a maroon one. (Oh, when I stopped at the fairgrounds parking to pay to get in, the very young girl looked at the car and asked 'do you really like driving such a tiny car???' in a tone that said she did not believe anyone possibly could. It was funny.

I did not realize there was a Seahawks game here tonight but I got in before it got bad - the traffic here, I mean.

It was a great great day. I am tired. My feet are tired. All is good.
