Ready for Saturday

I think I woke up every hour last night.  Weird. I'm usually such a good sleeper.  I'm fine this morning.  I'll catch up tonight.  Today, I have a full calendar.  Starting with swimming.  And then I'm trying out a new brunch place.

Home after that and then I'll walk or hop a bus downtown to meet <lj user=machupicchu> for a movie.  After the movie we'll catch a quick dinner and then on to a Christmas Lights tour.

Last Summer on a Saturday, I was coming home and saw a short parade of vintage busses go by.  The first couple were loaded with people and I was intrigued so I googled.  And found out that an organization of retired bus drivers do special old bus tours.  For $5 we can ride on an old bus and see Christmas Lights.  So that's what we're going to do!

Fedex Fuck up, Thank you, Fedex

So, last weekend I ordered two nice, pretty swimsuits (as opposed to the cheap jobs I have now) and I paid an extra $5 for faster shipping.  They got them to the shipper quickly and then Fedex just sat on 'em.  First they showed a 12/12 delivery date.  Then 12/9.  but, they also showed that they sat in Indiana for 4 days.   Finally, yesterday, I called.  I got a guy for whom English was not his first or maybe even fourth language.  He used the phrase 'I apologize' after nearly every word.  He put me on hold for a REALLY long and painful (due to the world's worst hold music) time.  Then he came back and said it would be delivered on Monday.  But, I said, it is coming via Fedex Home which does not deliver on Monday.  No, he said, it was transferred to regular FedEx.  

I have been told many time that such a transfer was impossible and I did not believe him for a minute so I assumed it would be delivered on Tuesday if at all - even if the tracking number showed it was staying in Indiana forever.

And then, minutes ago, I got an email that that it had been delivered.  WTF?   I went down to the package closet and, sure enough, there it was!!!

Not only that, but both suits are fabulous! And they fit perfectly!  I may not even have to do my usual boob-ectomy.  I'm going to swim in them once and see how it goes.

I had breakfast this morning at a new place.  Wild Mountain Cafe.  It was delicious.  It was easy to get to from the pool and easy to find parking and I can see that it's going to be a regular stop on Saturday mornings.  Great service.  Great food.  Great find.

And, when I came out, there was another Smart car parked one car away from mine.  Funny.  I have discovered one thing about Smart car drivers - they are mostly a very unfriendly bunch.  Whenever I see one, I wave "Hi" frantically and obviously.  I have yet to have anyone even so much as acknowledge the wave.  Snotty, if you ask me.

I finally remembered to leave the Epic at home and take the EVO so this morning I finally had a working GPS again.  Whew.  I am so pissed at the Epic.  I wonder if it would not be smarter to have the second cellphone with a different carrier.  Right now both are with Sprint and I'm wondering if that is smart.  One will go off contract in April.  I'm thinking maybe I need to do some research between now and then.

I'm not overly impressed with my breathing today.  It's not awful and I'm not coughing but it's not what it was last week either.  I started on two puffs of the Flovent last night so I'm going to give it a day or two to kick back in.  If it never gets any worse than this, ok.  But if this is going back downhill again - fucketyfuckfuckfuck.

I now have a couple of hours before I have to leave for downtown.  I may go early and just wander around down there before the movie or may hang out here and just go straight from here to the movie...  hmmmm
