The massive coughing fits that started in the pool yesterday have mostly disappeared. Whew. I need to keep it that way. Last year when I was sick for so long, at one point the doctor noted that my coughing was causing my continued coughing and, sure enough, as soon as I grasped that and focused all my energy on not coughing, I started to get better. Lesson learned.

So today is going to be all about not coughing. So exertion will be kept at a minimum. But, I'm not going to stay in bed. There are some grocery store things I want and I think for variety, I'll go to one I go to rarely.

Mixing it up COPD/retirement style!!

I was watching and listening to the beehive that is the new building construction and trying to visualize what it will be like when it is finished - both sound and sight. I couldn't.

I do love the activity but I also appreciate that it's cold enough to shut the door if I want it a little more quiet.

I started out at Goodwill where I left my latest donation and then went into the store. Part of my donation was two plates that were just too thick for my taste so I wanted two to replace. On the way back to the plate section, I spied a sign:

Wednesday is Senior discount day! 62 or older 20% off.

SCORE!!! I found plates and I found a never used before pet carrier. Travis broke the last one. This one is too big for Betty - I'll need to pad it with blankets but a great size for my future dog and it was $6 with my discount. Nice. And I got texting gloves - gloves with little rubber dots on the fingers and palms so your phone won't slip and little slits to release your pointer finger tip and the top of your thumb for actually working the phone!! Genius and $1.15!!

Then off to the Baby Corner to deliver the bears.

Then off to this fancy Safeway I've wanted to investigate. I took the long way through small streets with tree canopies. It was raining lightly and the leaves were brilliant. It was just beautiful.

The Safeway turned out to be ok and worth one trip but not one I have to go back to. I got what I wanted and came on home.

The cough is still with me. Not horrible but I'm glad I didn't try the pool today.

One thing I got was that Fleischmann's new bread mix. So that's what I'll be doing this afternoon!
