timing

There are very few times, anymore, when I'm in the middle of a project that is not going right and I need to concentrate to get it fixed. BUT, I can garundamntee you that when I am, when I'm at the most frustrating point, my neighbor, Ann, will breeze in for a chat. That woman has take-it-to-the-bank timing.

Today I was trying to hook up a splitter to the bedroom TV so I could switch between the TiVo tuners and the televisions analog tuner. The TiVo rebooted a couple of times last night just as I turned on the news. Each reboot takes 5-8 minutes. Had I had it set up correctly, I could have just hopped over to the TV, bypassing the TiVo while it was doing it's thing.

But, I could not get the job done. I'm missing a clue. I have the same setup here in the living room and it works great - I can bypass TiVo and get the 30 channels of just old time analog TV. In the bedroom, not at all. In fact, I could not even get decent reception simply TV to cable - I got the channels but too much snow and static to watch - so something's hinky somewhere. Fortunately, TiVo has stopped rebooting so maybe all is cool for now.

Ann wanted to find out how Saturday night went. I'm sure she wanted to hear about how horrible it was to spend an evening with 'those people' - people who ride busses and hang in casinos. She seemed a bit disappointed when I told her I had a great time. Then, thankfully, she split.

OH! I just got an email that Tija (my upstairs neighbor and the owner of the gym across the street) saying that she nailed both the tree knitter and the funding for the three knitter!! Our median is getting Christmas - probably Friday!!!

Too cool. In fairness, it was neighbor Ann's idea so I should not be annoyed with her at all. Both Ann and Tija are on the neighborhood historic board so they know people and make stuff happen. I just bitch or enjoy depending on my mood.

My swim was great today. I love Monday's pool time probably better than any other. I'm not sure why but today was no different.

The Urban Craft Uprising is a gynormous craft show that is daunting. I went once - in the very early years - when it was easy and, actually, right down the street. Now it is over in the Seattle Center. Every time they have it, I think I'll go and then I just don't. It's this weekend again and this time, I am not only going, I'm going with a PRO!! [livejournal.com profile] seattlejo is a UCU veteran and she suggested we meet for breakfast on Sunday. I conned her into letting me tag along for UCU after breakfast! I'm quit jazzeed.
