Waiting for snow
Dec. 8th, 2012 01:17 pmI am a huge snow fan. I once lived in Minnesota for 18 months. I moved there in October - got in two winters before I moved on in May and I loved every flake of snow but didn't get it out of my system. Here in Seattle, when it's cold, it's dry. So we get very little snow. But hope springs eternal.
He gave it to me last night. We went on a Christmas cruise. Around Elliott Bay. It was a great thing to do once. One of my swim class people told me this morning that her family always goes to one of the bonfires they have around on the shores. The boat stops just off shore and does a 20 miinute Christmas song set. She said that they always do more singing before and after. Both Matthew and I thought that standing around a bonfire a way better option than standing on the oh so windy and chilly open deck of the boat. But it really was fun to do once.
Swim class was fun but really seemed to go by too quickly. And I totally forgot my towel. I had a spare in the trunk but I was in my suit and dripping wet when I made the discovery. So I stood under the hair and hand dryers for a bit and let the air do the rest. When I got to the car, I was able to dry my hair. I checked out a new place for breakfast. It was not worth writing a review of.
Now I'm home and happy to be here.
I did find out something amazing... Mr. Potato Head now comes with a plastic potato!
The potato heads were some of my favorite toys - I accummulated Mr. and Mrs. and I had a couple of children but they all required real potatoes! My Mom used to swap out my potatoes every once in a while - I think it was when she wanted to use them for dinner. I loved my potato family but plastic potatoes???!!! I do think having a case to keep the parts in is a good idea. Towards the end of my love affair with them, my potatoe family was pretty much a family of cyclops with varous other missing body parts.
I do love that the idea of Mom making mashed potatoes out of my toys did not strick me as ewwww until right now. I liked having the fresh potoatoes without all of the stuff that hard started growing out of them. Ok now I'm thinking the whole potatohead thing is a little creepy. But not as creepy as my sister's Chatty Cathy doll.
